We are currently looking for an Account Manager Trauma to join our team and take ownership of a strategically important territory in the North-East of the Netherlands.

This role offers a strong balance of autonomy, development, and collaboration, supported by a structured onboarding and training program designed to set you up for long-term success.

Your Role

In this role, you will take responsibility for managing and growing relationships with hospitals and clinical stakeholders across your territory. You will work closely with surgeons, operating room staff, hospital administration, and purchasing departments, acting as a trusted partner throughout the customer journey.

You will start with a comprehensive familiarisation and training phase, allowing you to build strong product knowledge and internal networks before fully taking ownership of the territory.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing an extensive onboarding and product training programme to gain in-depth knowledge of the trauma portfolio and internal processes
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies within your territory, including identifying new customers and managing negotiations with surgeons, hospital management, and procurement teams
  • Advising and training medical and surgical professionals through product demonstrations and educational sessions
  • Providing hands-on support in the operating room, where approximately 40% of the role is spent, supporting procedures when required
  • Managing orders and follow-up activities to ensure timely delivery and a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Representing Stryker at congresses, seminars, and business meetings to expand both your expertise and customer network

Territory & Working Environment

  • Territory: North-East Netherlands
  • This is a field-based role with significant customer interaction and regular travel within the region
  • You will work closely with experienced colleagues in the territory while being expected to operate with a high degree of independence

Training & Development

We place strong emphasis on development and long-term growth. You will benefit from:

  • A structured onboarding programme lasting several months
  • Dedicated product and systems training, including classroom and field-based learning
  • A buddy system and close coaching during your ramp-up period
  • Access to ongoing education programmes (including foundational and advanced training modules)
  • Continuous development opportunities within Stryker, both locally and internationally

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification (ISCED Level 6 or higher)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience, including sales experience

Experience & Skills

  • Proven sales experience, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceutical, or related industries
  • Experience working with complex stakeholders and longer sales cycles
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Valid driver’s licence, as the role involves regular customer visits
  • Orthopaedics or anatomy knowledge is an advantage, but not a requirement

Competencies We Value

  • Drive: A strong enthusiasm for medical technology, combined with resilience and a results-oriented mindset
  • Empathy: The ability to understand customer needs and build trust-based, long-term relationships
  • Teamwork & global mindset: Comfort working in an international environment and collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
