As a Business Analyst at ASN Bank in Utrecht, you are responsible for bridging the gap between the business requirements and technical implementation of the bank's IFRS9 and Stress Testing Models.

What will you do?

As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the data and technology powering the bank's IFRS9 and Stress Test Model infrastructure. This includes collaborating with model owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, working closely with IT and data teams to ensure successful implementation, and monitoring performance to identify and resolve any issues.

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with model owners, data & implementation teams, modelling teams, and other stakeholders to understand the business needs and requirements;
  • Translate these business requirements into clear technical specifications and work closely with the IT and data teams to ensure successful implementation;
  • Translate data needs for IFRS9 and Stress Testing Models development into technical specifications, serving as the linking pin between modelling teams, technical data & implementation teams, and data owners in the business;
  • Perform technical tests to verify the correct implementation of requirements and support the business owner with user acceptance testing;
  • Monitor the performance and availability of the technical infrastructure supporting the IFRS9 and Stress Testing Models, identify and troubleshoot any issues or bottlenecks and provide support and guidance to model users and stakeholders;
  • Contribute to process improvements and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall reliability and efficiency of the IFRS9 and Stress Testing Models infrastructure.

This is where you'll work

You will be working within the IFRS9 and Stress Testing Data & Implementation team (D&I), which forms part of the broader Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) division. This team is one of three teams that make up the Provisions & Stress Test Modelling (PSM) department, which in turn is one of six departments within the QRM division. QRM plays a crucial role in facilitating quantitative approaches, including models, as a first-line function within the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) domain.

You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the technical data and implementation of the requirements for the development and maintenance of the IFRS9 models and Stress Testing models respectively. You will also collaborate with Technical Engineers from the Data Domain, who are specifically allocated to support PSM teams with data extraction solutions and model implementation. The work of these Technical Engineers is coordinated from a content perspective by the senior leadership of the Data & Implementation team. The role involves regular stakeholder engagement, requirement gathering, and translating these into actionable technical specifications. Progress and status are tracked through agile project management tools and regular team meetings.

Your qualities

  • 1 to 7 years of work experience in a comparable context, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to break down complex issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Experience with database tools and database languages like SQL is preferred.
  • Collaborative mindset, and willingness to continuously learn, as the risk model infrastructure and requirements evolve over time.
