Internship: Global Health Policy & Advocacy

Join Philips’ Global Government and Public Affairs team and contribute to shaping health policy strategies that improve health outcomes worldwide. In this role, you will support initiatives focused on cardiovascular health and medical imaging, providing research and recommendations to strengthen Philips’ leadership in these areas. You will collaborate with international organizations and cross-sector partners to build resilient and sustainable health systems, working closely with the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR). This internship offers hands-on experience in global health policy, advocacy, and strategy, while giving you exposure to high-impact projects and networking opportunities with experts in public affairs and healthcare.

Your role:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of medium- to long-term health policy strategies
  • Support policy initiatives related to cardiovascular health and medical imaging through research and recommendations
  • Engage with international organizations and stakeholders to advance Philips’ global health objectives
  • Facilitate cross-sector collaboration to strengthen health systems in partnership with PHSSR
  • Explore health system impacts across multiple countries, focusing on diagnostics, prevention, and population health management
  • Assist in advocacy efforts and strategic messaging to promote sustainable healthcare solutions
  • Collaborate with a supportive, informal team environment that values learning and teamwork

You're the right fit if:

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Biomedical Sciences/Medicine, (Health) Economics, Business/Public Administration, or Public Health
  • You have strong analytical and communication skills (English and preferably Dutch)
  • You are interested in cardiovascular health, medical imaging, and sustainable healthcare systems
  • You are passionate about global health, health policy, and medical technology
  • You have strong research skills

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Compensation and Benefits:

Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you perform a part-time internship, you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, is €300 net if the location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, and €255 net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) needs to be more than 1.5 hours. Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card, is up to €192 net. Paid holidays are provided per internship term.
