Payroll Accounting Program Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of global payroll related month-end activities including journal entries, accruals, estimates, and reconciliations
• Represent the payroll accounting function in various payroll and benefit related projects
• Lead the integration of the bookkeeping with M&Aʼs
• Assist in setting up recurring and automated entities with new countries or programs
• Perform variance and flux analysis on employee expenses, benefits costs, and various payroll balance sheet accounts
• Take the lead on certain payroll accounting initiatives
• Assist in audits by preparing PBC schedules, compiling supporting documentation, and offering detailed insights into payroll processes to facilitate both internal and external audits
• Collaborate with Payroll Operations, FP&A, Tax, Legal, HR and other cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes, and support business needs
• Participate in projects and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements or new implementations
• Identify process improvement, automation opportunities and implement solutions to help improve efficiency and reduce risk

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Payroll accounting, GL accounting, or a related area. Global Payroll Accounting experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in large ERP system (Oracle Fusion, Workday)
• Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo
• Preferred experience or exposure with a program management function and/or project management
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
• Must be comfortable working with a remote manager and global team

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

• Zone A: $133,200 - $173,900
• Zone B: $120,600 - $157,450
• Zone C: $110,700 - $144,525

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
