Research Technician in the Laboratory for Astrophysics
Project Description
We are looking for a motivated Research Technician to join the Laboratory for Astrophysics (LfA) at Leiden Observatory for a 6-month appointment, as part of the NOVA instrumentation phase 6 project: “Formation of molecular organics in solid-state astrochemistry.”
This project focuses on the development and implementation of new equipment for existing ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems to study the spectroscopy and chemical evolution of interstellar ices. The main goal is to obtain broadband spectroscopic data for key interstellar molecules in pure and mixed forms under astronomically relevant conditions.

Supervision and Collaboration
The position will be based at the Laboratory for Astrophysics within Leiden Observatory and will be supervised by Dr. Ko-Ju Chuang. The successful candidate may be asked to present at NOVA instrumentation-related meetings.
