Take the lead in crafting a future-ready HR strategy for our Delfzijl plant and help build a thriving, purpose-driven workplace at the heart of sustainable aviation.

As HR Manager DSL at SkyNRG, you’ll be instrumental in building the people foundation for our first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility. You’ll lead the development and execution of HR strategies that support the operational readiness of DSL-01, ensuring we attract, onboard, and retain the right talent to run the plant successfully from 2028 and beyond.

From compensation and benefits design to implementing HR systems and local talent acquisition, you’ll shape the employee experience for our Delfzijl team. You’ll work closely with the DSL management team, the broader People & Culture (PC) team, and external partners to create a workplace that reflects SkyNRG’s values and supports our mission to decarbonize the aviation industry.

This is a strategic and hands-on role where your HR expertise will directly influence organizational development, operational success, and employee engagement. As SkyNRG scales, your leadership will ensure our people practices are future-ready, locally relevant, and aligned with our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the People & Culture framework for DSL in alignment with the SkyNRG People and Culture Framework, including HR systems, compensation & benefits, policies, performance management, and talent acquisition
  • Lead the hiring strategy for the DSL plant team (approx. 80 FTE by 2028), in close collaboration with SkyNRG’s Talent Acquisition and People Operations teams
  • Develop and implement working conditions and compensation structures aligned with SkyNRG’s employee handbook and local industry standards
  • Manage DSL HR Officer and Office Manager, fostering a culture of ownership, growth, and continuous improvement
  • Build strong partnerships with local institutions (e.g., universities, vocational schools) and industry peers to position DSL as an employer of choice in the region
  • Oversee people operations including payroll, contract management, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Provide strategic HR support to the DSL management team, ensuring people decisions drive business performance and align with compliance and HSE standards
  • Source and manage external HR service providers to support recruitment and operational HR needs
  • Act as the key link between DSL and the broader SkyNRG People & Culture team, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration

Your Profile

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced HR leader who thrives in dynamic, innovative, industrial environments. You’re someone who can design from scratch, build strong partnerships. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Must have:

  • A strong understanding of HR requirements in a Dutch and international industrial organization (5+ years' experience as HR manager/ People Operations manager)
  • Experience with setting up working conditions, HR systems, way of working, and collaborations with local partners to build a new team in close alignment with a management team
  • Business acumen & autonomy – You should have the ability to connect PC strategies to business objectives, ensuring PC initiatives directly contribute to company growth. We seek someone proactive and independent in working with their designated business teams in the DSL organization
  • Communication skills – You'll be responsible for conveying PC policies and initiatives across the organization, so the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and concise way—both in written content and during training sessions
  • Project management skills – PC is always working on multiple initiatives, so the ability to juggle projects and keep them on track is crucial
  • Proactive mindset – You identify opportunities for improvement, take ownership, and drive initiatives forward with confidence
  • Fluent in Dutch (native) and proficient in English

  • Living within approximately one hour of our plant in Delfzijl
  • Able to raise enthusiasm with potential new-hires
  • Positive mindset with an appetite to ‘roll up your sleeves’
  • Comfortable and confident in people and culture expertise (e.g. people operations, performance management, compensation & benefits, L&D, org design) and thereby able to convince others, based on solid data and rationale reasoning
  • Passion for sustainability, innovation and teamwork (key values at SkyNRG)
