NIBC Bank is looking for a Junior Quantitative Risk Analyst in our Modeling & Data Analytics team!
Job Description
What will you do?
- Perform semi-annual bank-wide stress testing;
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business critical decisions.
Modelling
- Further develop and improve the Solvency stress testing framework;
- Proactively initiate methodological updates in response to changes in regulations as well as internal model landscape;
- Translate functional requirements into effective end-to-end implementation in Python.
Communication
- Regular liaison with Finance, ALM, Treasury, Corporate Development and various risk and IT teams;
- Knowledge sharing within the team and other stakeholders about stress-testing, risk management and modelling.
Boundary spanning
- Opportunities to take part in bank-wide projects that span over several knowledge domains and require effective communication at all organizational levels;
- Help steering NIBC in the challenging and dynamic regulatory environment;
- Further modernize and optimize the credit risk modelling process, including tooling and methodology.
Your team
MDA provides an open, positive, and challenging environment via a broad range of activities and projects. The team is responsible for the bank-wide Solvency and ESG stress testing, regulatory and IFRS9 credit risk models, hedge accounting and counterparty credit risk modeling as well as has a leading role in the ongoing bank-wide transformational change programs. Within our diverse team, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by playing a lead role in improving NIBC’s stress testing framework. You will have the opportunity to broaden your model development skills as well as closely collaborate with Finance, ALM, Treasury, Corporate Development and various risk and IT teams.

What do you bring?
- Attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset while maintaining a clear focus on overarching strategic objectives;
- 1-3 years of experience in risk management, risk modelling or finance;
- Hands-on experience with risk modelling; stress testing; or advanced financial budgeting & forecasting (must-have);
- Programming skills in Python and able to design and implement methodological improvements (must-have);
- A good understanding of core programming principles (strongly preferable);
- Understanding of key credit and market risk metrics, along with their interrelation with macroeconomic factors (preferable);
- Knowledge of banking business and how different risk types affect banks’ financial statements (preferable);
- Good communication skills (English);
- Motivation to learn more about stress-testing & risk management;
- A positive ‘can do’ mentality and critical approach.
