Join Picnic as a Distribution Working Student

As a Distribution Working Student, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our delivery model for electric vehicles. You'll monitor driver operations, proactively identify and resolve issues, and collaborate closely with the team to improve last-mile delivery. With a customer-focused mindset and a practical approach, you'll help ensure efficient, reliable service and smooth daily operations.

Tricks of the trade

  • Configure delivery components: Ensure all delivery model components (order slots, delivery areas, drive times, vehicle types) are up to date.
  • New Hub integration: Define sub-areas and configure delivery schedules when new Hubs open, feeding into the planning algorithms.
  • Evaluate delivery area configurations: Analyse existing delivery area setups to identify and implement KPI improvements (e.g., delivery times, on-time performance).
  • Optimize delivery area layout: Adjust and rearrange current delivery areas based on customer order patterns and behaviour.
  • Adapt to operational disruptions: Modify delivery schedules and trip planning to address disruptions such as traffic, weather, and seasonal changes.
  • Operational support contact: Serve as the primary contact for operational managers needing help with temporary changes or delivery inefficiencies.
  • Drive projects related to delivery efficiency: Define and implement automation opportunities, using SQL or Python.

About you…

  • Pursuing your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Informatics, Logistics Management, or related
  • Available for 16 - 24 hours per week
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills with a structured and accurate approach
  • Strong Excel skills and a love for data-driven projects
