The role

As a Change Coordinator Engineering, you play a crucial role in managing engineering changes within our naval projects. You act as the link between technical and administrative content, ensuring that all engineering changes whether initiated by customers, partners, subcontractors, suppliers, or classification societies are effectively coordinated and documented. Your role is essential in maintaining an organized and structured approach to change management within engineering, ensuring traceability and efficiency throughout the process.

Key accountabilities

As a Change Coordinator Engineering at Damen Naval, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support and suggest engineering change identification and initiation.
  • Manage the end-to-end processing of requirements, documents, and configuration changes.
  • Ensure correct assignment of change management levels and execution of impact analyses.
  • Monitor progress and follow up on open changes with responsible action holders.
  • Coordinate changes affecting multiple teams within Engineering.
  • Initiate, implement, and communicate change execution plans.
  • Ensure traceability of approved changes into the product configuration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of department processes and knowledge transfer.
  • Comply with HSSEQ / IMED policies and procedures.

Skills & experience

To excel as the Change Coordinator Engineering, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree (EQF6) in a technical field with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree (EQF7) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience with naval engineering concepts and practices; background in naval architecture is desirable.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes.
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and interfaces between disciplines.
  • Strong administrative skills within a complex technical environment.
  • Strong influencing skills to ensure collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent command of the English language and Dutch language.
  • Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
