Head of Internal Audit

As our Head of Internal Audit, you will be responsible for the Internal Audit department in the EMEA region. Together with two internal auditors in your team, you will objectively assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance and risk management. The Internal Audit function supports process owners in complying with J-SOX requirements and ensures audits are executed per the yearly audit plan.

How you’ll help us.

Based at our EMEA Headquarters, just outside of Amsterdam, Netherlands, you will be reporting to the CFO EMEA, and as part of the role, you’ll:

  • Set objectives for the team in line with company objectives and measure performance objectively and frequently.
  • Safeguard priority setting in the team to ensure issues are solved timely and structurally together with other stakeholders.
  • Create annual audit plan after risk assessment and alignment with EMEA Executive team and AHQ Internal Audit team.
  • Request approval from AEB Board for annual audit plan.
  • Ensure audits are performed in accordance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Perform operational, financial, compliance and GDPR Audits in line with the annual audit plan.
  • Strengthen internal controls and advise process owners on control designs as part of the annual update of the J-SOX framework.

More about you.

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Business Economics or Accountancy.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, ACCA, CIMA, CISA or similar is a plus.
  • Eight years of working experience in internal auditing, internal control, or external auditing.
  • Two years of experience in managing an international team.
  • Experience in an FMCG, sporting goods, and wholesale and retail environment are a plus.
