Technical Product Rescuer at Decathlon's Circular Center

As a (Technical) Product Rescuer in the Circular Center, you will be involved in the refurbishment of our products. You diagnose, repair where necessary, and investigate what is still suitable to sell as Second Hand. Are you required to have a lot of experience or knowledge for that? No, just energy and passion, and we'll teach you the rest! 🛠️

You will work with technical products in an international logistics environment, making an important contribution to a more sustainable and circular world. How beautiful is that?! We are looking for people in almost all product groups, as we are a brand-new part of the company.

Why Work at Decathlon?

WORKING FOR DECATHLON = MAKING SPORTS ACCESSIBLE FOR THE MANY

Decathlon's mission is to make the fun and health benefits of sports accessible to everyone in a sustainable way. That's why we want you to be as passionate as we are about having a positive impact on society and the planet through sport. If you thrive in a network structure with little hierarchy and have an independent and proactive attitude, you'll find your way around Decathlon.

About You

  • You like to fix your own stuff. You don't just throw stuff away; everything deserves a Second Chance.
  • You like to learn how things work: you can spend hours on YouTube watching technical tutorials.
  • You enjoy explaining how things work to others, whether they are colleagues in the service center or in the shops.
  • You like to work in an organized manner.
  • You have knowledge or passion for Decathlon products.
  • You have a hands-on mentality.
  • Availability: 16-38 hours

Working Hours

The repair team works Monday to Friday, from 8:30 till 17:00.

Your Technical Skills

  • Two right hands would be nice, but being handy in general is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Decathlon and its products will give you an advantage.
  • In your application, please explain your technical skills and experience.
  • You are interested in learning more about bicycles.
  • You are quite handy with computers for registration, communication, and looking up information.

Location

Decathlon Warehouse Tilburg (we work on the large, bright top floor, overlooking the treetops).

What Can We Offer You?

  • A bunch of great colleagues who are always up for some (virtual) exercise.
  • Our own sports facilities next to the warehouse.
  • A decent salary.
  • Holiday allowance.
  • 24 days off.
  • 20% employee discount on our own brands.
  • Possible profit sharing.
  • Validated training that will get you to the next salary range.
  • Coaching.
  • Travel allowance.
  • Pension arrangement.
  • Shareholder arrangement.

The Expert Who Perfectly Repairs Our Products

All products can break, sometimes through use, sometimes due to a manufacturing defect, but fortunately, most of Decathlon's products are repairable. In our stores, we have workshops that solve many problems, but they send difficult jobs to the service center. As a Product Saver, you are a true expert with a lot of product knowledge and know how to independently carry out complicated repairs. Communication with our stores is also part of your work, as they sometimes ask for advice and like to stay informed about the state of their repairs. A product that you have handled will eventually return to the store in perfect condition, making for a happy customer! 😃

Are You a Student or Looking for a Part-Time Job?

Are you a student and/or looking for a part-time job that offers freedom, flexibility, meaning, and growth opportunities? This is a rocket start to your career or just a very nice part-time job! 😉

Validated Training on the Job

After starting in this job, we will immediately begin training you to master the skills of a Decathlon technician.

Daily Work at a Glance

  • Receiving, registering, checking, preparing, and sending products.
  • Initial diagnosis, determining further steps together with your teammates.
  • Ordering parts.
  • Repair of the product (minor repairs).
  • Preparing products for shipment both online and offline once they are ready.
  • Proactively thinking about how we can improve the departments; ideas are always more than welcome!

Meet the Team!

The Circular team is an international team of motivated teammates who perform different repairs. Everyone is gradually finding their specialization in this area, and we expect the same from you. While everyone can work independently, with difficult issues we work together to find a solution. The members of this team will familiarize you with technology and our working method. We are in full development, and there is therefore plenty of room for your ideas. The team has its own manager (we like to say leader) who takes care of planning, training, and technical assistance!

What Does the Application Process Look Like?

  1. Application by sending us your CV and motivation.
  2. First introduction by phone (this is also a good moment to ask us your questions).
  3. First interview in our warehouse.
  4. Contract proposal.
  5. Welcome to Decathlon!
