Software Engineering Intern

As Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are now looking for a new face to complement our Development team as a Software Engineering Intern. During the Software Engineering Internship, you will be part of a team of Software Engineers. You will participate in every stage of the Software Development Lifecycle, which includes activities, such as: Software Requirement Engineering, Software Design, and Software Implementation in various formats. Will you join us in our quest to create a healthier and happier world?

This is a remote position (within the Netherlands), where you will be working for our Amsterdam office. We are looking for a full-time intern. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from your home at all times within the Netherlands. Additionally, you can work from any location you want within Europe up until 4 weeks at a time for a maximum of 12 weeks in a year.

What this role looks like

As a Software Engineering Intern at Virtuagym, you will be an integral part of the development process, actively participating in refining product requirements and contributing to the design, implementation, and testing of technical solutions. You will be working alongside experienced engineers and senior members of the department who will guide and support your growth, providing you with the necessary tools and resources to achieve your personal development goals. Throughout your internship, you will gain hands-on experience in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of our software.

What you will bring to the team

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, STEM, or a related field

• Passionate about software engineering, coding, programming, architecture, and related disciplines

• Enrolled at an EU University and already living in the Netherlands

• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possessing a strong work ethic

• Proficient in English (verbal and written)

• Proactive, innovative, and full of new ideas

• Available for a full-time internship for a minimum of 3-6 months

• Huge plus: Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, and/or PHP

• Interview with our Head of Engineering and Senior Software Engineer, in which you will show a project you’ve built and are proud of and explain why you decided to build it the way you did. Make sure to show us the parts that you’re most proud of or were hardest to get right
