Do you want to be part of marine ingenuity and provide the financial insights for the SRI projects within our business unit Offshore Energy (OFE)?

THE POSITION

In this role, you are part of the Projects team within the Business Unit Offshore Energy of Van Oord and report directly to the SRI business controller. The product group SRI is on a path of ambitious growth to enable the energy infrastructure of today and tomorrow and is geographically expanding rapidly. Van Oord specialises in projects requiring innovative and sustainable solutions based on our Marine ingenuity.

As Project Controller SRI, you will be the financial conscience and business partner of the business controller and project managers. Within the Business Unit Offshore Energy, you are responsible for timely delivery of the P&L/balance of several SRI projects and local entities. Your responsibilities will include supporting operational decision-making, ensuring compliance and effective controls in an international setting. Additionally, you are invited to play a crucial role in data management and digitalization to enable the transformation of SRI and Van Oord towards a data driven company.

YOUR IMPACT

In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving financial planning, supporting project teams, and strengthening business processes across SRI projects and international entities. You will act as both a financial partner and a coordinator to ensure smooth operations and high-quality data.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead annual financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for assigned SRI projects and local entities.
  • Serve as a financial sparring partner for project managers and teams.
  • Advise stakeholders on financial performance, risks, and opportunities, including financing, guarantees, cash flow, and tax matters.
  • Liaise with local accountants to ensure compliance and timely filing of annual accounts.
  • Perform ad‑hoc analyses, drive process improvements, and contribute to digitalization initiatives.

YOUR WORKPLACE

You are working in the OFE Finance & Control team in Gorinchem, consisting of ~ 10 people and you will report to a senior business controller, financially responsible for a product group within the BU OFE. The OFE Finance & Control team leads regional finance managers and (international) project controllers and plays an important role in the planning and reporting cycle within the business unit by supporting the budgeting and forecasting process.

ABOUT YOU

You are someone who takes initiative, thrives in an international and project‑driven environment, and enjoys creating value through strong financial insight and teamwork. You combine analytical strength with a hands‑on mentality and a drive to continuously improve.

You bring:

  • A proactive, self‑starting mindset and enthusiasm for managing your own SRI projects or entities within Offshore Energy.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Affinity with data, BI tools, automation, and process improvement, plus enthusiasm for project control and reporting standards.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, at least 5 years of relevant international experience, and ideally exposure to complex, project‑oriented environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills, a pragmatic “can‑do” approach, and affinity with the maritime and/or civil construction industry.

WE OFFER

Working in an international, highly demanding and dynamic organisation, with the possibility to truly have impact on our business, people and environment. We offer a complete package with excellent secondary employment benefits. The package includes among other things:

  • A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience;
