Are you ready to shape maintenance excellence on a global scale?

JBT Marel is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our organisation in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is a key role focused on developing and maintaining the foundations of our preventive maintenance strategy — ensuring our customers’ equipment operates reliably, safely, and efficiently throughout its lifecycle.

In this role, you’ll be at the centre of how maintenance is defined, structured, and delivered across our installed base. Working closely with engineering, service, logistics, and customers, you’ll turn technical insight and data into clear maintenance plans, kits, and documentation that drive uptime and customer value.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and continuously improve the Master Maintenance Documentation and Maintenance Plans for JBT Marel equipment
  • Define maintenance criteria for parts using supplier data, pressure analysis, FMEA input, and feedback from field service engineers
  • Create and maintain structured maintenance kits aligned with machine configurations and customer needs
  • Provide technical support across the service organization, including maintenance job preparation, complex customer questions, and stock parameter definition
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to review maintenance strategies, gather feedback, and improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Identify and support the development of upgrades or improvements (in collaboration with engineering) that enhance maintainability and machine uptime
  • Prepare training materials and deliver training sessions on maintenance strategy, stock advice, machine efficiency, and preventive maintenance scopes
  • Prepare input for quotes of service contracts, on scope (like parts and kits to be replaced and hours) related to preventive maintenance

About you

You’re technically curious, structured, and comfortable working with incomplete data to build practical solutions. You enjoy connecting engineering detail with real-world service execution and customer outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong affinity with engineering and technical disciplines, with the ability to think both conceptually and practically
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data analytics and large datasets
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to identify gaps or inconsistencies
  • Strong command of English & Dutch (spoken and written) and confidence working with engineers, service teams, and customers
  • A customer-oriented mindset, understanding how maintenance impacts uptime, cost, and operations
  • Comfort working independently and making informed, educated assumptions when required
  • Willingness to occasionally participate in field activities to validate and refine maintenance strategies

Experience & education

  • Engineering or technical education (mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or similar)
  • Experience in maintenance engineering, service engineering, reliability engineering, or a similar technical role
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance concepts, spare parts structures, and service documentation
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a technical or industrial environment
  • Exposure to data-driven maintenance, reliability analysis, or FMEA is an advantage

What’s in it for you

  • A high-impact role shaping global maintenance strategy and service excellence
  • Close collaboration with engineering, service, logistics, and customer-facing teams
  • Opportunity to influence machine uptime, customer satisfaction, and lifecycle cost
  • A culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
  • Career development opportunities within a global, technology-driven organization
