Damen Workboats, a leading division within the Damen Shipyards Group, consists of several entities including an operating company and four shipyards (Turkey, Vietnam, China and The Netherlands). We specialize in the design, construction, and maintenance of workboats, offering a wide range of vessels for various maritime applications. The Role

As a Financial Controller within the Workboats Division, you play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement. You work closely with the Finance Director Workboats and a team of Business Controllers, Financial Controllers, and Project Controllers. This role focuses on reporting, cashflow planning, audit coordination, and improving financial processes and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Ensure accurate and timely internal, external, and consolidated financial reporting aligned with Dutch GAAP and local standards. The consolidated financial reporting includes the financial results of our overseas shipyards.
• Review financial results and provide insights to support business decisions.

Cashflow & Financing

• Perform cashflow planning for the Workboats Division.
• Cooperate with Treasury to maintain and optimize financing structures.

Audit Coordination

• Coordinate external audits and ensure smooth audit execution.

Process Improvement & Systems Development

• Identify areas for improvement within accounting and financial processes.
• Support continuous improvement and optimization of tools such as SAP, OneStream, and Kyriba.

Planning & Control

• Contribute to the planning & control cycle, supporting management through financial insights and data-driven recommendations.

Skills & Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience (accounting, auditing, financial reporting), preferably in accountancy.

Skills & Competencies

• Accurate, structured, and hands‑on work approach.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Team player with flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
