iOS Developer

At SnappCar, we're looking for an iOS Developer to join our Product team.

SnappCar is a car-sharing platform based in the heart of Utrecht, right next to Central Station. Since cars are unused for an average of 23 hours a day, we see huge opportunities to make mobility smarter. By sharing cars instead of owning them, we use existing vehicles more efficiently, reduce idle time, and lower CO₂ emissions.

Our ambition is bold: we aim to remove 50% of cars from the streets. A smooth and reliable iOS app is essential to deliver a great user experience. To help us achieve this and support our continued growth, we are looking for a new iOS Developer.

About the job

SnappCar is growing fast, and we are looking for an iOS Developer who plays a key role in shaping the mobile experience of our platform. You work on an app used daily by thousands of people and directly contribute to making car sharing more accessible and reliable.

You think beyond implementation: you translate product and user needs into solid technical solutions, challenge assumptions, and take ownership of the iOS experience. Quality, scalability, and maintainability matter to you. Within our team, you are a trusted technical partner who helps move both the product and the organisation forward.

What will you do?

• Work in a cross-discipline team comprised of mobile, back-end, and front-end developers.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and UX Designer to translate customer and business needs into meaningful improvements to the app.
• Implement new features in iOS (Swift).
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Work on and contribute to the ongoing migration from UIKit to SwiftUI, while maintaining and improving existing UIKit-based code.

What you bring to the team

• At least 4+ years experience in creating iOS apps.
• Experience with working with RESTFUL API’s.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of the iOS experience while ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms.
• Progressive, open and direct. Not afraid of challenging our assumptions.
• Professional working proficiency in English
• A multidisciplinary mindset. Our teams are adjusted to the needs and goals of both our users and the company. Expect not only to work closely with other developers and designers but also with marketers, support agents, etc
• Someone who thinks horizontally and bottom-up. We are a flat organization and strongly believe in leadership instead of management
