The Business Support Planning and Control team is looking for an Operational Planner (Wave Planning).

Role and responsibilities

Deliver load level-, wave planning- and planning support to optimize the efficiency in the logistical process by monitoring and balancing the workload within the warehouse and logistics department.

As a Wave planner, you play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our highly complex logistics and warehouse processes, directly impacting our ability to meet production demands efficiently and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Operational activities

  • Monitor the influx of outbound deliveries for the 5L Warehouse, where logistics processes are centralized to facilitate an efficient supply to manufacturing.
  • Identify and analyze workload peaks.
  • Ad-hoc steering on workload peaks, advising on warehouse capacity re-scheduling.
  • Adjust the timing of deliveries in such a way that the workload is leveled on an hourly base.
  • Adjust delivery timing based on priority.
  • Monitor if deliveries are created according to the ‘delivery creation rules’.
  • Contact the internal customer (Production Planning, Cleanroom Logistics, Material Handling) and/or the 3PL in case alignment is needed for load leveling.
  • Monitor and steer the ‘stock to factory’ process by managing the EWM Waves.
  • Process delivery and/or delivery line cancellation requests and prio changes.
  • Monitor and follow-up on exception codes and alerts generated by EWM.
  • Provide first line operational support on planning processes, executing resolution of operational issues, in order to minimize impact on the operation.
  • Steer daily/weekly meetings to facilitate effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Weekly report performance and volume measurements and communicate with stakeholders.

Report to the Planning and Control Team Lead within LO Business Support and work closely with other Business Support departments, Warehouse, Production Planning, 3PL, and Manufacturing Services Engineering.

Continuous Improvement activities

  • Identify improvement opportunities in the value chain.
  • Analyze trends, define and improve planning related processes.
  • Participate and/or drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Interact with stakeholders.

Education and experience

Relevant Bachelor or Master degree (e.g. Operations Management & Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management).

  • 3-5 years of experience within Logistics / Supply Chain Management.
  • Hands-on experience in a technical production/warehouse environment.
  • Preferably experience with trouble-shooting: problem solving methodologies.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
