Infrastructure Engineer - Network & Security

In deze rol ga je aan de slag als Senior Network Engineer binnen het Thales Netherlands IS/IT team. IS/IT staat centraal in de digitale transformatie van Thales en werkt nauw samen met de business.

Met een team van 100+ collega’s leveren we IS/IT support aan 2500 collega’s in Nederland, verdeeld over meerdere Business Lines en functies. De IS/IT-afdeling van Thales Netherlands werkt daarnaast intensief samen met de internationale IS/IT-afdelingen binnen de Thales Group.

About the job

Je werk als Senior Network (Security) Engineer is afwisselend. Elke dag start je met het team om tijdens de stand-up lopende taken te bespreken en af te stemmen. Binnen zowel de afdeling als het team werk je volgens Agile/Scrum. Door de week heen focus je samen met je team op het sprintwerk. Je werkt aan het beveiligen, onderhouden en verder ontwikkelen van onze IT-infrastructuur. Bij voorkeur heb je ervaring opgedaan in enterprise-omgevingen waar security en standaardisatie belangrijk zijn. Een sterke visie op het beveiligen van IT-infrastructuren is wat jij uitdraagt.

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring that required network security principles are implemented in business managed environments.
• Contributing to, and ensuring that, the vision and strategy for the products within your domain are aligned with the IS/IT department strategy.
• Translating business demand to tailored IS/IT solutions according to the expectations of the stakeholders.
• Collaboration with other squads and departments to optimize results.

You have:

• expert knowledge of networking and security;
• experience in creating high and low level designs;
• experience in developing a business case to support infrastructure projects;
• knowledge of Next Generation firewalls;
• knowledge of Network, VPN, WiFi and proxy technologies;
• knowledge of Network access control and monitoring;
• knowledge of Web Application Firewalls;
• knowledge of Loadbalancing;
• experience with Enterprise Core switching: design, implementation and management;
• broad experience with other IT components;

About you

We are looking for a colleague who:

• preferably has a (technical) bachelor or master degree;
• has at least 5 years relevant working experience;
• is able to quickly master new domains and techniques;
• is familiar with or is willing to learn setting up security/group policies, automation of recurring tasks, packaging, trouble-shooting, rolling out applications and other workspace management activities;
• is familiar with Unix-based technologies (server and client) like RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu;
• has experience within a complex enterprise IT environment;
• has strong communication skills;
• is security minded
• has experience with agile working or is open-minded in adopting new ways of working;
• has a strong will to continue to develop him or herself, both on a personal and technical level;
• can communicate in English.
