Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:

We are looking for a Sr Cable Design Engineer to be part of our R&D team reporting to the Cable Design Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the design of our products in a dynamic and innovative team.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

• Create/maintain product designs and costs, and general product data
• Review customer/industry specifications to determine capability of the factories to produce these cables
• Utilize the in-house cable design tools (like Common Analisi and MES systems) to create BOMs, routings and working instructions needed for the manufacturing of Prysmian products
• Utilize in-house ERP system (SAP) to review and maintain material master data
• Analyze costs consequences for quotations/production/management plans
• Execute benchmarking analysis when requested for comparisons between facilities
• Maintain in Design system(s) all process guidelines with all current prescribed changes and ensure strict adherence for design requirement
• Evaluate and propose innovative ideas for new products and product enhancements
• Provide ideas/track Design to Cost projects
• Act constructively as a team player on technical teams supporting special projects to improve production efficiencies, continuous improvement, and product and process development
• Maintain/develop knowledge of appropriate industry standards like NEN, HD and IEC
• Prepare design documentation for factory level experimental trials/product development

You are the right fit if you:

• Have a bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering experience
• 2 - 4 years of related experience in manufacturing environment (preferably wire and Cable industry related)
• Ability to communicate with different departments like process engineering, sales, product management
• Strong Analytical and Problem-solving abilities
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Word)
• Feeling for database environments/automized systems
• Attention to detail and self-supporting
• Knowledge of English and Dutch
• Ability to travel between the factories Emmen, Nieuw Bergen and Delft
