Ready to make an impact in high-tech horticulture? As a Technical Sales Consultant at our De Ruiter Experience Center in the Netherlands, you’ll be the go-to expert for global customers.

Our De Ruiter Experience Center (DEC) in Bleiswijk - the Netherlands - is a cutting-edge 1.7-hectare glasshouse showcasing three key crops: tomato, pepper, and cucumber. Every year, we welcome over 3,000 visitors from 45 countries to explore our innovations, including a market featuring the world’s 50 most popular varieties. With more than 2,500 trial plots, we generate valuable insights to continuously improve variety performance.

As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will be based in the DEC, where you will welcome customers around the world and share technical expertise & knowledge about our De Ruiter portfolio to leading high-tech glasshouse customers, while managing close interaction with our 15 Customer Facing Units. Your excellent understanding of glasshouse growing principles is shared while:

  • Guiding key accounts in our De Ruiter Experience Center, to strengthen customer excellence.
  • Exchange knowledge by offering technical expertise to our leading growers globally, together with the local teams, so they are able grow our varieties most effectively.
  • Booster sales of New Variety Introductions in key high-tech glasshouse markets, to strengthen our global De Ruiter portfolio & positioning
  • Ensure the DEC is fully operational, providing an excellent experience to customers, and accelerate the DEC as a global tool for our De Ruiter organisation

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with DEC Team and Customer Facing Teams to enable the best customer experience.
  • Act as primary point of contact to share technical variety information & growing expertise.
  • Drive our new portfolio towards our leading accounts, in close collaboration with the local teams.
  • Booster new business development in emerging markets (travelling required, minimum 1 per year)
  • Work in a dynamic and cross-regional team, and be able to navigate around the customer as center point.
  • Managing a data visualization platform, that includes the 2,500 trial plots, where we generate valuable insights to continuously improve variety performance.
  • The objective of this role is to ultimately become the central point of contact including all assigned tasks and taking ownership to secure our De Ruiter Experience Center in its future endeavors for long-term continuity and success

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum BSc in Agronomy, Commercial or related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience
  • Experience in growing high-tech glasshouse vegetables is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capable of working with different countries & cultures
  • Ability to quickly understand customer need, and act accordingly
