EHRI-ERIC is looking for a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to its Central Hub team. Your contribution will help the team stay organized, efficient, and well-connected. This is a position at the EHRI-ERIC Central Hub, hosted by the NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Amsterdam, an institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). All employees of EHRI-ERIC are employed by NIOD-KNAW and seconded to EHRI-ERIC.

This is a fixed-term contract for one year; depending on future needs and funding, an extension is possible.

What will you do?

  • Contribute to the administrative running of the CK Fellowship and transnational event programs (communication with external hosts/organizers and participants; processing of applications, agreements and monitoring forms)
  • Contribute to the financial administration of EHRI-ERIC (drawing up and processing of invoices, etc.)
  • Gather and collate data relating to the ongoing monitoring of EHRI-ERIC
  • Assist with the organization of major EHRI-ERIC events and meetings, including by acting as contact person for participants and organisers, and by providing input on their delivery and programming
  • Manage and coordinate the EHRI help desk
  • Contribute to the dissemination of EHRI-ERIC (updating of website and social media content)
  • Provide administrative support for third-party funded projects
  • Contribute to the refinement of EHRI-ERIC policies particularly regarding the administrative running of the CK Fellowship and transnational event programmes, and the monitoring of EHRI-ERIC by identifying areas for improvement and by suggesting and implementing relevant systems and processes
  • Provide general administrative support to the EHRI-ERIC Central Hub

What will you bring?

  • Previous experience in an administrative capacity, preferably in an academic, research or other relevant environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent standard IT skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Affinity with EHRI-ERIC’s mission is a plus

What do we offer?

A dynamic role at the international EHRI-ERIC Central Hub. You will join an international team that currently consists of 7 other members of staff. The position is based in Amsterdam, with hybrid work arrangements possible.

About EHRI-ERIC

On 20 January 2025, the European Commission established the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC). EHRI-ERIC is a permanent, distributed Research Infrastructure dedicated to support trans-national Holocaust research and documentation. EHRI-ERIC is currently supported by ten member countries and by a consortium of more than 40 individual institutions. The Central Hub of EHRI-ERIC takes care of the legal, administrative and financial running of EHRI-ERIC, the coordination of the provision of EHRI-ERIC’s user services, and the development of its overall strategies and policies.
