About the role

In this role, you have the opportunity to be part of the Mechanical Development team of the Specialty Coffee business. You will be responsible for the mechanical product design of coffeemakers from initial design concepts to mass production in a multidisciplinary team. You will create and implement concepts, functions, or improvements into products that will deliver added value for consumers seeking their precious moment of delight.

The impact you’ll make

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in the Mechanical Development Team for Specialty Coffee, you are responsible for:

  • Engineering the best coffee appliances, balancing cost, timing, quality, manufacturability, and usability.
  • Releasing products, components, and modules for mass production.
  • Planning, realizing, and steering mechanical product development and managing cross‑functional aspects.
  • Identifying gaps and implementing improvements to elevate development approaches.
  • Being the technical counterpart for commercial managers and designers to realize the most attractive appliances.

You will be part of the Mechanical Development team of the Specialty Coffee business, and you will work on the product development of coffee appliances from initial design concepts to mass production in a multidisciplinary team.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring

  • You have a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical product development in consumer electronics appliances.
  • You enjoy coaching and mentoring engineers in your product team.
  • You are familiar with state‑of‑the‑art development techniques and CAD. You have knowledge of mechanical constructions in plastic, and preferably you are familiar with manufacturability aspects (mold/tooling design), analysis (strength, stiffness), and drive mechanisms.
  • You show drive and are quality‑focused. Experience with Design for Six Sigma is a plus.
  • You have the ability to balance innovation and practical realization.
  • You are decisive and independent.
  • You are ambitious, a team player, and you have good coordination, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Experience in e‑BOM management and in SAP CAD management is preferred.
