Optimize supplier experiences in a setting where compliance meets creativity

How do you make our customers happy?

At bol, over 47,000 commercial partners – from brands and resellers to agencies and suppliers – present over 51 million products for millions of customers. In this role, you’ll help Retailer 1, our first-party retail organization, design B2B tools, services, and experiences that help 1,000+ suppliers thrive, scale, and continuously meet the ever-evolving needs of these 13.7 million customers. Your designs turn operational complexity into intuitive workflows that build trust. For suppliers, internal teams, and ultimately, consumers.

The biggest challenge

From deforestation laws to energy labels, the production of each of our 50+ million products must meet a growing list of regulations. Compliance starts with knowing (y)our suppliers (‘KYS’), which requires collecting accurate, complete, and up-to-date information at scale. But how do you make that process feel effortless for suppliers, ensure it can easily adapt to evolving regulations, and integrate these tasks seamlessly into daily workflows at bol?

This isn’t about ticking boxes or filling out endless forms. It’s about designing smart, intuitive solutions that leverage AI where possible, guide suppliers through complex requirements, and keep information current without constant manual intervention. How do you create an onboarding process that feels simple while meeting all relevant legal and financial requirements? How do you help suppliers maintain thousands of compliant product listings without overwhelming them? This is where creativity can reduce the burden – and where your design skills make a world of difference.

What you'll do as Medior Product Designer

You’ll join the Retailer 1 product team as a design impact amplifier – supporting multiple teams without being locked into one, absorbing peaks in the workload, and accelerating delivery across the entire product area. You’ll collaborate closely with senior designers on complex projects while contributing to shared initiatives and design system improvements.

You start with a large dose of curiosity: listening to supplier feedback, exploring research insights, and identifying sources of friction in workflows. You translate these insights into compelling opportunities, crafting strategies that make adoption easy and demonstrating their value. Through creativity and critical thinking, you combine user desirability with business feasibility. You’re not just designing interfaces, you’re building long-term trust.

Working alongside Product Designers, Analysts, Engineers, Product Managers, and internal operations teams, you transform intricate requirements into seamless journeys that make undeniable sense. You lead discovery sessions autonomously, map out systems and touchpoints, and design solutions that respect both supplier needs and customer expectations. Through rapid prototyping, iterative testing, and data-driven decision-making, you validate assumptions and refine experiences until they’re elegant, scalable, and ready to make an impact. Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead research to identify supplier needs and opportunities
  • Design elegant flows for complex compliance, legal, and financial processes
  • Collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams and support senior designers
  • Prototype and test quickly to learn from, share, and improve ideas
  • Explore and implement AI-powered features and workflow automation to reduce friction
  • Contribute to the design system, ensuring patterns are applied consistently
  • Identify opportunities for harmonization and efficiency across teams
  • Champion user-centered design in a challenging, high-impact domain

Why you can make a difference

You know that great designs generate trust. With 3-5 years of product design experience – ideally in B2B or complex platform settings – you’ve learned to use constraints as fuel for creative solutions. You combine strong UX skills with business acumen and thrive in ambiguity, asking incisive questions that cut through complexity. You balance user desirability with technical feasibility and advocate for user needs in every conversation. Experience in designing for AI-powered experiences (conversational interfaces, predictive workflows, automation) is not a must, but would be a real asset.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

Pixel perfectionist

You'd rather spend a morning tweaking drop shadows than tackling a service design challenge

Meeting minimalist

Cross-functional collaboration feels like overhead; soloists get things done quicker

Compliance-averse

Discussions about regulations make you reach for aspirin instead of your laptop

Systems thinker

You love building smart, scalable solutions that make life easier for everyone, from suppliers to internal teams

Bridge builder

You thrive at the intersection of user needs, legal requirements, and technical constraints, finding elegant solutions where others see only conflicts

Trust cultivator

You understand that every interaction impacts people's confidence in bol – and you take that responsibility seriously
