Senior SAP Integration Expert Opportunity
Job description:
As a Senior SAP Integration Expert, you will lead the modernization of client’s integration landscape and play a key role in our digital transformation. You will design and deliver reliable, secure, and scalable integrations across enterprise systems, with a strong focus on migrating from SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite. In this hands-on senior role, you will architect integration solutions and patterns—covering point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, API-led, and event-driven scenarios using Cloud Integration, API Management, and other BTP services.
You will build and optimize iFlows, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure high performance across hybrid landscapes. At the same time, you will act as a trusted technical leader, reviewing designs, defining standards, guiding migration strategies, and mentoring teams throughout integration projects.
What’s in it for you?
- You will have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest companies globally, designing and delivering SAP-led complex transformational programs, and enhancing new skills in SAP and in Program & Solution Governance.
- This is an opportunity to join a European team of senior SAP experts with a focus on thought leadership, origination, sales, and delivery of large transformation SAP programs across industries.
- The opportunity to lead large-scale PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite migration programs that directly impact mission-critical business processes.
- Broad functional exposure across EDI/B2B, cloud-to-cloud, on-premise-to-cloud, API-led, and event-driven integrations, spanning multiple industries.
- Room to build thought leadership—contributing to internal frameworks, reusable assets, and knowledge accelerators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead complex migration initiatives from SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite, covering assessment, solution design, build, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
- Assess existing PI/PO landscapes, analyze interfaces and scenarios, estimate migration complexity, and create detailed migration roadmaps and work plans.
- Design and implement integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite components, including Cloud Integration (CPI), API Management, Open Connectors, Event Mesh, and Trading Partner Management.
- Define and implement API strategies with SAP API Management—design, publish, secure, throttle, and monitor APIs that expose and consume backend services.
- Establish and maintain integration governance frameworks, including naming conventions, design standards, security guidelines, documentation practices, and monitoring KPIs.
- Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, enterprise architects, security teams, and third-party vendors to ensure integration solutions align with business needs and architectural principles.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to integration developers and junior consultants through design reviews, code reviews, coaching, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Track SAP Integration Suite roadmap and best practices, proactively recommending and driving adoption of new features, patterns, and tools that enhance integration capabilities.
Necessary Knowledge / Skills:
- Extensive, hands-on experience with SAP integration technologies, including SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) and other Integration Suite services (e.g., API Management, Event Mesh, Open Connectors).
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and architecture: synchronous vs. asynchronous messaging, publish–subscribe, request–reply, message routing, content-based routing, aggregation, orchestration.
- Hands-on experience designing and building iFlows in SAP Cloud Integration, using various adapters (SOAP, REST, IDoc, SFTP, OData, SuccessFactors, etc.).
- Deep expertise in SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration), including ESR, Integration Directory, message mappings, and common adapters (Proxy, RFC, IDoc, SOAP, REST, file/SFTP, JMS, etc.).
- Proven experience delivering at least 2–3 full-cycle PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite migration projects, including cutover and hypercare.
- Solid knowledge of message transformation techniques, including graphical mapping, XSLT, Groovy scripting, and Java mappings.
- Experience with SAP API Management, including API design, policy configuration, security (OAuth/JWT), throttling/rate limiting, and API analytics.
- Deep understanding of integration security concepts: certificate/keystore management, HTTPS, OAuth 2.0, Basic Authentication, Principal Propagation, and secure connectivity via SAP Cloud Connector.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain integration concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Certifications in SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP, or cloud platform technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) are advantageous.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP architecture (including subaccount design) and other relevant services, including security and transport management.
- Knowledge of iPaaS concepts and experience comparing or working with other platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Informatica, etc.).
- Background in SAP NetWeaver and ABAP, especially for proxies, RFCs, and custom integration enhancements.
