How you can make a difference

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in the Supply Chain Execution domain. You’ll be an infrastructure and automation specialist and technology advocate across 4-5 DevOps teams that are at different stages of maturity regarding their cloud and infra setup. Your core mission is to assess the current infrastructure landscape, define a clear infra and automation strategy customized for each team, aligned with Engineering Managers and Product Owners, and then execute that strategy.

• You assess the current infrastructure landscape and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
• You define and execute a tailored infra and automation strategy for each DevOps team, in close alignment with Engineering Managers and Product Owners.
• You coach and empower DevOps teams to adopt best practices in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security.
• You proactively drive innovation and continuous improvement across teams, ensuring our infrastructure is future-proof and scalable.

Your new team and office. Our teams have been working together for some years in the Supply Chain Execution department. About half of our team works hybrid from the office in Zaandam (right next to the train station) one or two days per week, while the other half works fully remote. We plan our important team sessions when people are at the office, and we also organize regular team events to connect and have some fun.

The engineers in our teams are passionate about their craft, and they want to keep learning and improving. They are not afraid to ask for what they need to make that happen and they go the extra mile to support each other delivering results. Joint brainstorming sessions and pair programming are a regular thing in our teams.

Together with your team you will work on inspiring projects to accelerate our transition into a hybrid Food & Tech company. We want to leverage data and technology to future-proof food shopping and give our customers accessibility to healthy food more easily available for everyone. Responsibilities.

• Drive automation of Cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, self-service, Infrastructure-as-Code services, Auto Scale initiatives, and DevOps deployment.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, architecture, development, and deployment.
• Provide guidance and advice to teams using your strong understanding of Cloud services.
• Implement security baselines and standards for Azure resources including network access, restriction of internet-facing resource provision and configuration within the Azure environment.
• Work with and support application teams in their digital transformation goals.
• Create observability strategies with focus on self-healing mechanisms.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure that releases, internal and external, can be done easily (and retracted easily if need be).
• Define and develop architectural standards that promote DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).

The recipe for maximum impact:

• Knowledge of:
  • Github/Github Actions
  • Terraform
  • Writing reusable IaC for multi (stateful) environments (e.g., dev, uat, prod)
  • Container based Infra like Kubernetes
  • Scripting language (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, etc...)
  • Azure PaaS services such as Azure Kubernetes, Databricks, Key Vault, Storage account etc.
  • SaaS based Observability solutions
• Advise application teams on using various Azure resources and services
• Cloud knowledge (AZ-900 & AZ-104 certifications from Azure side, or have managed AWS/GCP environments)
• Proven ability to implement secure and highly available infrastructure services
• A passion for advancing and continually improving our DevOps automation and practices to keep our applications easy to deploy, monitor, and scale
• Proven experience in Azure security tools such as Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault and Azure Policies
• Big bonus if you have experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• You enjoy teamwork and making things happen
