groups & meetings specialist - PM shift

At citizenM, the groups & meetings specialist is responsible for the sales and day-to-day organization of group and meeting business for all citizenM hotels. This includes achieving target revenues, pricing and negotiations, planning and implementation of sales activities, and acquisition of group and meeting business. The goal is to ensure the right groups and meeting requests are converting and staying at citizenM hotels.

The groups & meetings specialist collaborates closely with other specialists and coordinators, as well as all sales and demand managers in the commercial team, to optimize activities. This role operates on the PM shift, from 14:00 to 22:00.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept and convert the right groups – decision making
• Act as the point of contact for group and meeting bookers from Marriott sales organisation, companies, travel agents, and conference centers for all locations
• Manage group blocks and meeting room bookings using all available tools
• Create group quotes and send out offers following the SLA
• Work closely with the sales & demand team and revenue tool OneYield for pricing decisions
• Proactively acquire repeat clientele and build relationships
• Account management and build out production
• Work on projects and other (administrative) activities
• Assist groups & meetings coordinators with organizing tasks where needed

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience in group and/or meeting business
• Customer focused
• Negotiation skills
• Bachelor degree
• Proactive attitude, showing initiative
• Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and an eye for detail
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English and either Dutch or another second language
