Wat is jouw rol?

As an intern in our Robotics and Computer Vision domain, you will contribute to the next generation of intelligent mapping systems used in Lely’s autonomous machines. Your work focuses on improving how long term maps are created by distinguishing stable structures from dynamic or temporary objects. You will combine semantic information from image based segmentation with spatial sensor data to build a mapping pipeline that is more robust, more accurate and better suited for real farm environments.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Collect, clean and prepare datasets for segmentation and mapping tasks.
• Train, fine tune and evaluate state of the art semantic segmentation models.
• Develop a method to incorporate semantic labels into the mapping pipeline.
• Fuse camera images with depth and range data to separate permanent structures from dynamic objects.
• Analyse robustness under varying scene changes.
• Implement and test a functional prototype, including experiments on real farm machinery.

Wat is jouw ervaring?

You are passionate about computer vision, robotics and intelligent mapping and you enjoy turning advanced algorithms into working prototypes. You are curious, analytical and motivated to test your ideas in real world environments.

You bring the following:

• You are studying Robotics or Computer Science at WO level.
• Understanding of SLAM, modern deep learning architectures and sensor fusion.
• Knowledge of Python is required, knowledge of C++ is preferred.
• Experience or strong interest in computer vision and software development.
• A proactive and hands on attitude when working with real robotic systems.
