You and your job

Imagine working with a high-performance team on complex financing transactions for Rabobank’s European wholesale clients, whilst being able to get the most out of yourself through the personal growth plan offered through our Rabobank Traineeship Wholesale Banking. In the Wholesale Lending domain, our bank’s largest clients are serviced with a host of financing solutions, varying from corporate lending including sustainable finance solutions to more tailor-made value chain financing solutions or assisting on leveraged transactions for renowned Private Equity parties. In this track, you will start working in one of these teams.

You’re self-starting and your entrepreneurial attitude is essential and will be an asset to our teams. You are truly interested in banking and financial products, and you like to work in a fast-paced environment. You can work on many projects at the same time in close cooperation with team members and client service teams. You build contacts with clients and prospects of the bank and keep very well up to date on market developments. You are stress resilient, maintain a good internal network, and take the lead in the preparation and execution of pitches or transactions.

Potential Rotations Include:

• Providing financing for top notch (listed) companies in our Corporate Lending team.
• Enabling Private Equity in growth opportunities in our Leveraged Lending team.
• Freeing up client’s capital by providing tailor-made working capital solutions in our Value Chain Finance team.

Making a difference

On a daily basis, you will make a difference by:

• Structuring transactions including sustainable finance solutions.
• Executing transactions by performing in-depth credit analysis and financial modelling.
• Preparing client visits and pitches, including actual client visits.
• Managing a dedicated portfolio of clients.
• Collecting and analyzing client data and generating ideas for transaction opportunities.
• Contributing to the due diligence and legal documentation process.
• Maintaining relationships with various external parties such as clients, lawyers, other banks, and with other colleagues within Rabobank.
• Contributing to the food and energy transition through Rabobank’s strategic pillars Banking4Food and Banking4Energy.

Your development as a trainee

In the Rabobank Traineeship, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates. You will meet fellow trainees from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team. Through rotations and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank. You will be guided by a Young Talent Manager, who will challenge you to reflect and delve deeper into your development.
