Be part of progress: Join ASML’s Integral Field Product Planning (IFPP) Department

Introduction

ASML is a global leader in the semiconductor industry, enabling chipmakers to produce advanced microchips that power modern technology. Within ASML, the Integral Field Product Planning (IFPP) department ensures service level agreements (SLAs) with customers are met by managing a global network of thousands of unique spare parts. The team you will join plays a key role in optimizing logistics and operational efficiency through smart data handling and automation.

This internship focuses on improving the performance and robustness of NORA, a custom-built tool that manages material ordering and stock balancing across ASML’s worldwide service network. By enhancing automation and data processes, you will help reduce operational costs and improve service reliability.

Your Assignment

You will contribute to the development and optimization of software solutions that automate data handling processes for NORA, a tool operating on an hourly basis to ensure timely and efficient management of ASML’s service network.

  • Develop software applications, preferably in Java, to automate operational activities related to data handling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Ensure data is downloaded, stored, and loaded in a smart, robust, and efficient manner to optimize performance and accessibility.

This is a (thesis) internship with a minimum duration of 5 months. It requires an investment of 32-40 hours per week, out of which 50% are onsite in Veldhoven. It is set to start as soon as possible (ideally mid to late February).

Your Profile

To be a perfect match you:

  • Are a bachelor or master student in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Have strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, particularly in Java (experience with other languages is welcome).
  • Possess basic knowledge of SQL and are familiar with data analysis techniques.
  • Have affinity with supply chain processes (is a plus, not mandatory).
  • Communicate effectively and are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular.
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include the willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
