Are you passionate about precision mechanisms and development of high-tech machines? Making optimal choices between disciplines for a good performance at acceptable cost? Get in touch with us!

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the printing industry? Are you motivated to join our product development teams in Venlo and help drive digital transformation through the development of working methods for diagnostics for our high-end printing products? With a focus on innovation and a passion for excellence, we are looking to take the next step to add value to our printer ecosystems by developing methods, processes, and tools for the development of the diagnostics of our platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting the creation of models that capture the system design and leveraging them to design the diagnostics for printing products.
  • Driving the development of (model-based) working methods that enable us to prioritize, design, and trace the diagnosability of our printing products.
  • Driving activities that help get those (model-based) working methods embedded in the organisation by, for example, leveraging and connecting models from different domains together.

Who You’ll Work With

Our international organization has a flat hierarchy, so you’ll be working with lots of other people in an open, creative multidisciplinary environment. That includes our other departments, designers, developers, and architects.

What You Bring

You are a creative problem solver with the ability to ‘zoom out’ and to rethink solutions on a higher abstraction level. You are a person with a passion for learning and applying new technologies and ideas to push boundaries of methodologies. You like to experiment, evaluate, and quickly adjust a method. You are someone who thrives in a dynamic team environment, and is excited about the opportunity to work with a team of professionals across different disciplines/domains and multiple locations.

As a domain modeller, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your work and influence the diagnostics roadmap for our platforms. You will be a proactive team player, constantly looking to support your fellow team and project members to develop the right solution in the organisation. In addition, our ideal candidate should also possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Engineering or related STEM field (or proven experience in this area on similar level).
  • Driven and excited by tackling large challenges with modelling approaches. A proven track record in the high-tech industry applying these approaches is a bonus.
  • Energized by pushing boundaries of technology and applying them in an industrial context.
  • Experience with industrialization topics like diagnosability, reliability, safety, etc. is a bonus.
  • Experience with Bayesian/Tensor networks, knowledge graphs, knowledge management, or related AI methods is a bonus.
  • English (and optionally Dutch) communication and collaboration skills, as the role requires working with R&D and Service colleagues in different locations.

What You’ll Get From Us

  • A competitive salary in line with your educational background and experience
  • 38 vacation days
  • Extra 13th month pay (8.6%), holiday allowance (8%) and commuting allowance
  • Hybrid working for a healthy work-life balance
  • A huge range of training and professional development opportunities
  • A laptop and smartphone
  • An interesting lease (e-)bike plan

Career opportunities

In this role there are plenty of opportunities to further develop yourself, e.g. to lead mechanical engineer, mechanical designer, etc.

Canon Production Printing develops and manufactures high-tech printing products and workflow software for the commercial printing market. The product offering includes continuous-feed and cut-sheet printers for high-volume printing and publishing, and large-format printers for display graphics and CAD/GIS applications.
