At TenneT, we work every day on tomorrow’s electricity grid

Our goal? A reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system. As an Offshore Technician Supervisor, you have a direct impact on maintaining and safeguarding offshore grid infrastructure that powers millions of households. Together with your colleagues, you contribute to the availability and safety of our offshore assets — keeping the Netherlands energised today and in the future.

Your Role

How will you help power the Netherlands? As an Offshore Technician Supervisor, you support safe, reliable operations on offshore platforms and cable systems. You execute and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

You will be responsible for:

  • Safe supervision of maintenance and operations – Prepare, coordinate and oversee TenneT personnel, subcontractors, wind farm operators and third parties working offshore.

  • Technical execution and support – Perform maintenance tasks within your technical expertise, provide guidance to colleagues, and supervise contractor execution quality.

  • Safety leadership – Ensure compliance with safety legislation and work permit procedures; oversee electrical and mechanical lock-out/tag-out activities.

  • Operational continuity – Act as Emergency Response Leader when required, ensuring safe crisis response and communication with the Crisis Manager.

In addition, you will:

  • Execute first-line fault response duties.
  • Support commissioning, asset readiness and handover of new grid connection systems.
  • Participate in steering and custodianship of grid connection systems, contributing input on availability, budget, risk and quality.

You will join the Operations & Maintenance team, working alongside supervisors, engineers and project teams across onshore and offshore locations. Collaboration, responsibility and safety leadership are central to our culture.

Your Profile & Background

At TenneT, we are looking for professionals who help shape the future of our electricity grid. We expect you to bring the right experience and skills to make a valuable contribution to our team and mission.

What do you bring?

  • Safety leadership: You act with confidence under pressure and can lead multicultural offshore teams in both normal and emergency situations.

  • Technical capability: You have a solid affinity with electrical and/or mechanical system operations on offshore assets.

  • Collaboration mindset: You share knowledge proactively and build strong working relationships across functions and teams.

You also bring:

  • Operational experience with HV/LV electrical or mechanical offshore systems (e.g., fire protection systems, HVA/C, auxiliaries).
  • Experience with high voltage switching operations in line with offshore electrical safety standards (NEN ISO 3140 / 3840).
  • Experience in planning, organising, coordinating and reporting work execution.
  • Knowledge of offshore working conditions, ship transfer and helicopter access regulation.
  • Language fluency in Dutch and English (minimum B2 level).

We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in FAS/FES systems, NAVAIDs, CCTV, PAGA systems, Oil-Water systems, or Freshwater systems — including testing, configuration, system philosophy and fault-finding.
