Are you studying (technical) computer science or electrical engineering (HBO/WO) and looking for an exciting internship? Then read on! Within our project, testing is partly automated in our construction process. However, we still have to test whether the functionalities are (still) working manually in the workshop with test robots.

To improve the quality and efficiency of the testing work, we want to expand the test automation with hardware in the loop. This means that an automatic process must be set up so that, after the construction process, the software is also automatically installed on the hardware and tests are carried out there.

The aim of the internship is to set up hardware in the loop in the form of a test board that can perform automated testing. If the outcome is positive, a follow-up step could be a complete test robot in the workshop that automatically runs and starts tests.

Tasks include:

  • Working with various engineers to explore the possibilities;
  • Inventory of required hardware;
  • Inventorying the necessary software;
  • Setting up the process properly and getting it up and running;
  • Possibly writing tests;
  • Documenting how the automated test with hardware in the loop is set up and how to use it. With recommendations aimed at expanding the setup/concept.
  • In addition, we expect you to have experience with Python and an affinity for embedded systems.

Practical information

  • You are available for a period of 6 months around February 2026.
  • You can devote at least 32 hours per week to your internship.
  • You speak and write English.

Working at Lely means contributing to sustainable progress within one of the most innovative organizations in the Netherlands. • An internship allowance of €650 gross per month (based on 40 hours).
  • An internship flat if the travel time is too long.
  • Our modern Lely Campus offers daily access to extensive sports facilities: an indoor gym, outdoor padel courts, basketball and volleyball courts, table tennis, and table football. You can join Hyrox workouts or sign up for personal training – and challenge your colleagues during an active break.
