Join Tony’s Chocolonely in Shaping a Fairer Chocolate Industry

Why we are here

Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.

What you will do

We’re looking for a Commodities & Couverture Manager to join our Procurement department and shape Tony's long-term sourcing strategy.

This is a senior role with global scope and significant impact: you’ll manage over €100 million in spend across cocoa and other raw materials, mitigate market risk, seek opportunities, and co-create sustainability strategies beyond cocoa. Your expertise will help us secure competitive prices, ensure business continuity, and deliver on our mission.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you’ll lead one direct report (Commodities Buyer) and work closely with senior stakeholders - including CFO, COO, and Head of Sustainability - to align procurement strategies with Tony’s growth ambitions and risk appetite.

All wrapped up

  • Define and implement Tony’s chocolate sourcing strategy for the next 5 years, including a Business Continuity Plan for cocoa and non-cocoa ingredients.
  • Monitor global commodity markets and provide hedging and buying recommendations in line with our risk management policy.
  • Lead the hedging committee and communicate market insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain risk models and dashboards for procurement decision-making.
  • Co-create sustainability strategies for raw materials in collaboration with our sustainability team.
  • Secure competitive pricing for ingredients through market research, supplier negotiations, and alternative sourcing strategies.

Job requirements

Our perfect New Edition

  • 5–10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3+ years in commodity management and hedging, ideally in food, FMCG or similar industries.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to put best practices into tactical, relevant plans.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, experience in budgeting, PPV, and cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles in sourcing.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communications skills: ability to influence, inspire and drive strong collaboration within and across departments.
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to manage ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Believe wholeheartedly in Tony’s mission. You live our core values: outspoken, willful, entrepreneurial and makes you smile.

We are all about being more in person than apart; this means we offer flexibility but see each other in the office on average 3 days a week. More is fine too!

Our Benefits (the Icing On The Cake)

At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first, by making a real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We are dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a lunch, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable quarterly events, and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate will not cover the bills, so we have made sure your salary is just as rewarding. For this role that means a salary between 90-115K on a yearly basis.

Sounds like you?

Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! If you are ready to take the chocolate industry to new heights with us, we would love to hear from you. Please send your direct application, no agencies. We cannot wait to hear from you!

Tony’s Chocolonely wants to make all chocolate 100% slave free. Not just our chocolate, but all chocolate worldwide. Not exactly the average company, right? Instead a chocolate company whose primary goal is to resolve a social issue in the world.
