With roots in the feed industry as a supplier of various proteins, cereals and oilseeds/(vegetable) oils, Cefetra Group is looking to further expand its portfolio in the coming years. Thereby transforming into a trader and supply chain manager of high-quality ingredients across different industries. We are therefore looking for a professional who can make sustainability measurable by carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), in which making greenhouse gas emissions measurable is an important element, along with related issues such as biodiversity, water and various social aspects. However, the role is not limited to these services. You will also be involved in other sustainability projects that match your ambitions and skills.

That is why we are looking for an ambitious, enterprising and energetic Sustainability Specialist!

Your responsibilities are:

• Planning and executing sustainability projects where independent and complete execution of Life Cycle Assessments (up to external verification of results) is an essential part of your work.
• Define specific project scopes, objectives and deliverables.
• Build and manage project teams, resources and budgets.
• Monitoring progress and adjusting where necessary, ensuring quality and reporting effectively to stakeholders.
• Evaluate project deliverables and processes and propose and implement necessary changes.
• Willingness to dive into the needs of our various internal and external clients and provide ad hoc advice, proactively where necessary.

Who are you

You have a commercial mindset and understand that sustainability only scales when it supports business and customers. In this role you create visible business value with LCA and carbon insights and you build momentum for change by linking sustainability to commercial opportunities.

You are comfortable working with colleagues who differ in their level of idealism. You can align on a long term vision of sustainability where possible and connect on concrete commercial interests where needed. You are a strong networker who can build trust with traders, managers, senior leadership and external partners. You communicate complex topics clearly and briefly and can present to busy commercial audiences with concrete messages and clear calls to action. Additionally, you should be able to identify with the following requirements:

• You have a deep technical expertise in LCAs and the underlying computational models.
• You were involved in at least one LCA that has been critically reviewed in line with ISO standards.
• Since LCA requirements and methods are developing very rapidly, we need you to be motivated to stay at the forefront of evolving standards and be comfortable dealing with and applying the available information.
• You are familiar with ‘SBTi’, the ‘GHG Protocol’ and ‘IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (Volume 4)’.
• You have strong skills in Excel and are familiar with tools like SimaPro and OpenLCA. You also bring some experience with Python and are eager to further develop these technical capabilities.
• you have an excellent command of Dutch and English (both verbally and written), any other language is welcome as addition!
