The Assignment

Do you want to apply your software knowledge in an innovative environment where technology and user-friendliness come together? Within our engineering department, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a new web client for Autodesk Vault Professional PDM.

Recently, JBT Marel implemented this system. It is used daily by more than a thousand users and manages over one hundred thousand version-controlled CAD files. Users with read-only access currently use the standard Autodesk web client, but this client lacks important functionalities. That’s why we want to develop our own web client that provides these features.

Your assignment will consist of building a working proof-of-concept for this new Vault web client. It must be designed with a modular, component-based architecture, clearly separating the user interface, business logic, and data access layers. This ensures the application remains flexible and extensible, allowing us to add new features or integrate additional services in the future without major redesign.

For the front-end, you will use JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a strong focus on a clear and intuitive user experience (UX). For communication with Vault, you will use the Vault Data REST API. Additionally, you will be challenged to integrate the web client with lightweight server-side services where required.

You will join our engineering department, where we work daily on innovative solutions for customers worldwide. Together with colleagues from different disciplines, you will learn how we combine software and technology to make processes smarter and more efficient.

Who are you?

• You are pursuing an HBO degree in Software Development or a similar IT-related field
• You are in your 3rd or 4th year of study
• You are curious, self-driven, and have an affinity with web development and UX
• You live within commuting distance of Boxmeer
