You and your job

The department W&R Innovation is responsible for supporting the business lines of Wholesale and Rural with the best technology, creativity, new propositions and digital solutions to better serve our clients and the food system. Within W&R Innovation, the W&R Innovation Product Delivery team is responsible for building solid, future-proof and compliant technological solutions to new and existing challenges. The team consists of knowledgeable, creative, work-hard and play-hard professionals who like to challenge the status quo using the latest technology, whilst aligning it with the existing landscape of Rabobank.

Your job will be to strengthen the Geospatial capability that was set up around 3 years ago, specifically focusing on developing valuable products for a wide variety of use cases within the bank. In your role, you will be the driver of new geospatial solutions from beginning until hand-over to the business-as-usual organisation. This includes scouting new opportunities for geospatial solutions, translating business problems into tangible, technical requirements, ensuring project compliance to Rabobank standards in line with the phase of the project, and being responsible for positive stakeholder management.

Practical Examples of Geospatial Use Cases

  • Creating portfolio-wide insights using geospatial data and analysis on climate and nature
  • Using imagery and GeoAI for collateral monitoring
  • Identifying client risk scores by geographical mapping of country and sector risks

  • Translating business problems into technical geospatial requirements for our GIS analysts & scientists to start developing geospatial solutions
  • Driving projects from start to end, ensuring alignment between all stakeholders and following the right processes
  • Identifying opportunities for geospatial projects by networking & building geospatial awareness across the bank and improving awareness

You and your talent

  • Knowledge on geospatial/GIS concepts, preferably with a background and/or work experience in Geospatial Sciences
  • Experience with agile way of working
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; fluent in English
  • Team player, energized by close collaboration with both the technical team and business lines
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, result-oriented, curious, and always eager to improve
  • Academic qualification in a relevant field and at least 3 - 5 years of experience, specifically with relevant expertise as mentioned above
