Are you ready to lead the next wave of advancements in AI & location tech?

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help us build production-ready AI products for TomTom. The work is full-stack, covering everything from new feature development to infrastructure and client integration. You’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values agility and real results, enabling you to lead from the front in building location capabilities for the age of AI.

Ready to make a real difference? Let’s get started!

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical leadership, guide complex discussions, and facilitate team alignment
  • Champion a culture of continuous innovation, growth and collaboration by mentoring and leading by example
  • Turn short-term R&D projects into real-world impact in our products by vetting new tech, potential suppliers and product opportunities
  • Design the web and automotive client integrations that surface the AI capabilities in our customer-facing TomTom products
  • Elevate the technical capabilities of the team, including AI infrastructure, agent evaluations, LLM monitoring, fine-tuning, prompt engineering and CI/CD practices

What You’ll Need

  • Educational background in Computer Science or a related field
  • Professional experience: 7+ years in Software Engineering roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency and leadership in developing and deploying algorithms to solve practical challenges
  • Expertise in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and common GenAI frameworks, standards and libraries
  • Scalability & performance: Familiarity with large-scale systems and tools
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams effectively
  • Tech stack familiarity: Working knowledge of Git, Docker, Kubernetes, different types of APIs, data processing tools, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)

What we offer

  • A competitive compensation package
  • Time and resources to grow and develop, including a personal development budget and paid leave for learning days, as well as paid access to e-learning resources such as O’Reilly and LinkedIn Learning
  • Time to support life outside of work, with enhanced parental leave plus paid leave to care for loved ones and volunteer in local communities
  • Work flexibility, where TomTom’ers, in agreement with their manager and team, use both the office and home to focus, collaborate, learn and socialize. TomTom’ers come to the office two days a week, and the remaining three are free to be worked in either location
  • Improve your home office with a setup budget and get extra support with a monthly allowance
  • Enjoy options to work from your home country and abroad for a set number of days each year, to visit family and friends, or to simply explore the world we’re mapping
  • Take the holidays you want with a competitive holiday plan, plus an extra day off to celebrate your birthday
  • Join annual events like our Hackathon and DevDays to bring your ideas to life with talented teammates from around the world
  • Become a part of our inclusive global culture and have the chance to collaborate with a diverse community – we have over 80 nationalities at TomTom!
