We are seeking a Developer-Ops Engineer to join our dynamic RegTech team, a small, agile engineering team responsible for maintaining and optimising our cloud-native, AI-enabled regulatory intelligence platform built on Azure, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and LangChain.

This hybrid role blends development, infrastructure, and operational monitoring, ensuring our environments stay healthy, performant, and compliant as the platform scales across clients and workloads.

Job requirements

Technical Skills

• Azure Cloud Management: Oversee resource provisioning, backup/recovery planning, cost optimization, and solutions architecture.

• Infrastructure as Code: Manage infrastructure deployments using Terraform.

• Security & Networking:

  • Configure and manage network infrastructure, Cloudflare proxying, DNS settings, and SSL/TLS certificate provisioning.

  • Implement OWASP Top 10 security measures.

  • Manage authentication/authorization using OAuth and OIDC.

• DevOps & CI/CD: Design, manage, and optimize build and deployment pipelines.

• Database Management:

  • Write efficient SQL queries, design schemas, optimize indexing.

  • (Nice to have) PostgreSQL experience.

• Backend Development:

  • Strong Python skills.

  • Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Celery, Pytest, and LangChain.

  • (Nice to have) Experience with LLMs, embeddings, and AI-related integrations.

• Frontend Development:

  • Modern TypeScript web development.

  • (Nice to have) Experience with Svelte or SvelteKit.

• Observability & Reliability:

  • Implement OpenTelemetry for observability.

  • Triage and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Kubernetes and/or Azure Container Apps experience.

• Hands-on AI project exposure (LLMs, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation).

What will you do

• Maintain and optimise cloud infrastructure (Azure, Terraform, Cloudflare, Container Apps) to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.

• Support deployments through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, managing build, test, and release processes.

• Develop and maintain backend microservices (Python, FastAPI, Celery, SQLAlchemy) and automation scripts.

• Monitor and troubleshoot production workloads using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics; implement alerts and dashboards.

• Contribute to infrastructure as code (Terraform modules) for reproducible and compliant environment provisioning.

• Collaborate with developers and AI engineers to containerise and deploy new features, LLM pipelines, and APIs.

• Apply security and compliance controls in line with ISO 27001 and AI governance requirements (e.g. MFA, encryption, audit logging).

• Participate in SDLC activities – contributing to design, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement as part of the ACT SDLC framework (Lite/Enhanced).

• Assist in environment management across development, demo, UAT, and production subscriptions.

• Support post-release operations, including performance tuning, bug resolution, and periodic audits.

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years experience in software development or DevOps (junior/medior level).

• Proficiency in Python (FastAPI preferred) and working knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services (App Services, Container Apps, Key Vault, VNets, Monitor).

• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tooling.

• Understanding of Docker and containerised deployments.

• Basic familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).

• Working knowledge of networking, access control, and monitoring principles.

• Interest or experience in AI / data-driven applications (LangChain, RAG pipelines, or similar) is a plus.

• Comfortable working in an ISO 27001 or security-conscious environment.
