In this role, you have the opportunity to

Hold the Quality Engineering role within the FORS venture in the vascular field. Philips has a strong and unique position in this area through its interventional X-ray, cardiovascular devices, and ultrasound portfolio. We are developing a new image-guidance solution based on revolutionary navigation technology, encompassing a combination of medical consumable devices, imaging equipment, and related services. Your challenge is to ensure that these new solutions and ways of working meet the quality requirements to help make the product a commercial success for Philips.

You are responsible for

  • Ensuring that appropriate Quality Plans are made that include all stages of the product life cycle and support Quality Plan design
  • Validating key design inputs such as usability, reliability, performance, supportability, manufacturability, localizability, safety, security, privacy, serviceability, sustainability, and costs
  • Providing effective oversight of the execution of the Quality Plan, any Risk Management activities, and all design-related activities during the product/system life cycle
  • Performing independent technical assessment on product quality performance and post-market product quality analysis
  • Leading quality-related problem solving and root cause analysis during design and manufacturing
  • Using post-market analytics and statistics to report on product quality performance in the field (providing feedback to manufacturing, suppliers, or design teams) and initiating field actions when required
  • Acting as a single point of contact (person assigned to the project team) responsible for ensuring that hardware design meets quality and compliance standards for every milestone

You are a part of

The IGT-Innovation group is a dedicated corporate venturing organization tasked with creating new solutions for IGT, focusing on procedure innovation and new business model development in the cardiovascular domain. Within Innovation, entrepreneurial multidisciplinary teams act as start-ups (ventures) within the larger corporation, building new businesses and acquiring new skills while leveraging the competencies of the broader Philips organization.

The Quality Engineer will report to the QA/QE team lead, who reports to the IGT–Innovation Head of Q&R.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Rich experience in the field of design transfer and post-market quality assurance
  • Rich experience in the manufacturing of Class III, sterile, (implantable) in-body medical devices
  • Rich experience in document reviews, CAPA, and improvement projects
  • Preferable experience working in venture/start-up setups, including basic business understanding
  • Preferable experience in reliability engineering
  • Preferable experience with guide wires and sterile products
  • Innovative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with a hands-on approach
  • Passionate personality with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Academic degree or comparable working experience, with excellent analytical and conceptual skills
