Computer Science Internship: Web Application for Configuration Analysis

Help shape the future of semiconductor technology by building a web application that improves how engineers analyze and manage system configurations. As a computer science intern, you will develop a web-based internal tool that supports ASML’s mission to push the boundaries of innovation in chipmaking. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of chipmaking technology.

Your assignment

You will develop a web-based internal tool that helps engineers scan and prototype configuration spaces quickly and accurately. This tool will improve design speed, code stability, and testability across ASML’s diverse system configurations.

Key deliverables include:

• Gather and analyze requirements to ensure the application meets user needs
• Translate an existing command-line tool into a user-friendly web interface prototype using modern front-end and back-end technologies
• Improvements on the compiler in the already available prototype
• Clear data visualizations and reports based on the queries
• Implement secure logging and follow best practices for web application security in line with ASML's Data Protection Policies
• Select and integrate a suitable database system in coordination with your mentors
• Write high-quality tests and maintain clear documentation

Your profile

To be a fit for this assignment, you:

• Are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or data science, and preferably have an affinity with security
• Have experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and web development frameworks
• Have experience with Data Science and Engineering through coursework or previous experience
• Are familiar with database systems such as MySQL or MongoDB
• Work in a collaborative and proactive way
• Think analytically and enjoy solving complex problems
• A big plus is having proficiency in compilers and Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs)

This is a bachelor (graduation internship) for 6 to 9 months, minimum 4 days per week (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is February 2026.

Other requirements you need to meet

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular
• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be able to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate
• If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
