The work

Hi (potential) master student! Looking for a challenging thesis internship where you also get introduced to the dynamic world of consultancy? Then we have the ultimate opportunity for you! Accenture Song’s Commerce team is looking for a thesis intern who wants to take part in our internal knowledge development within the fields of E-Commerce, Customer Activation, Content platforms, (Agentic) AI and Sales solutions. The Commerce team focuses on accelerating digital commerce journeys by leveraging new technology developments combined with deep industry knowledge. Due to your great interest in new technology developments and one or more of these Digital Experience domains, you will be effortlessly included within the team and quickly seen as a full member. Our enterprising analysts, great architects, developers, creative managers and, of course, consultants are eager to take you by the hand for your first consultancy experience in addition to your thesis research. This ensures that you will have the opportunity to learn more about how we create value for our customers by using an AI-first, life-centric approach. In doing so, you will get your first hands-on consultancy experience while writing a master's thesis.

Team

The Commerce team is part of Accenture Song, Accenture’s creative engine. Our Amsterdam office is home to more than 220 cheerful teams of smart, passionate people. We think, we plan, and we create platforms and experiences that help our customers solve problems and seize opportunities.

Commerce consists of 4 sub-teams:

  • Commerce Platforms: Enables seamless and optimized end-to-end B2B and B2C platform solutions for our clients. This team creates and optimizes commerce platforms by implementing the newest technologies while improving user experiences and customer journeys.
  • Customer Activation: Focuses on identifying and evaluating the most effective tools and strategies to optimize customer experience, for example by personalization, omni-channel experience and digital enablement.
  • Content: The content team creates experiences by enabling, migrating and/or upgrading content platform(s) for our clients. This expertise results in optimized user interaction and new engagement heights.
  • Sales: Helps our customers to drive sales/channel effectiveness as well as Lead-to-Order and B2B Acceleration. We do this by optimizing and digitalizing the route-to-market mix and by boosting sales productivity with the newest technologies.

Daily Tasks

As an intern within the Commerce Team, there is one main focus: Writing your thesis about a topic within the domain of Digital Experience. In addition, we would also like to introduce you to Accenture Song and the world of consultancy. The following can be expected:

  • Conducting research within the digital experience domain;
  • Writing your thesis with the support of dedicated people in the Commerce team;
  • Get the opportunity to present your results to our team and others within the organization at fixed times;
  • Gain experience as a consultant within Accenture.

Research

We support research topics that connect to the following domains, among others:

  • The rise of agents and the effect of (Gen)AI on Digital experiences within the domain(s) of Commerce, Sales and/or Content Management Systems;
  • The future of developing Digital Experiences across the entire customer journey;
  • (Composable) Platform Architecture;
  • Consumer Data Usage: Gathering / reporting insights for commerce platform optimization;
  • Selling retail media and/or advertising space on Commerce Portals;
  • Agentic Commerce;
  • Agentic solutions within domain of digital product developments;
  • AI-driven automation for seamless content migration across digital platform;
  • Enhancing content quality during AI-powered migration and transformation;
  • Content lifecycle management strategies for sustainable platform growth.
  • Ways to leverage technology and data (agents, co-pilot, guided selling, etc.) to boost sales productivity;
  • B2B sales towards a digital omnichannel strategy;
  • Designing an AI-Enhanced CRM System for B2B Sales Optimization: A Decision-Support Approach for Route-to-Market Efficiency;
  • Winning new B2C clients within a restricted 2025 commerce ecosystem (e.g., cookieless).

Song Talent Factory (STF)

As part of your internship, you will also take part in Song Talent Factory. This program will be leading you through your path at Accenture Song and will provide additional engagements, activities, and projects to enhance your intern experience. Being part of the Song Talent Factory, you will:

  • Get professional guidance on finding the next step in your career;
  • Get expert support on your thesis topic while leveraging all Accenture resources;
  • Be part of one Song program where you are required to collaborate with other interns at Accenture Song from our different offerings (Commerce, Design & Digital Product Creation, Marketing and Consumer Services);
  • Work on a large internship-long consulting project together with your STF group. This will allow you to not just get a glimpse of one of the four capabilities, but you will really get to see everything Accenture Song has to offer;
  • Be part of the Accenture Song community through companywide and intern-specific engagement events;
  • Enjoy the wide variety of training opportunities;
