Internship Opportunity in Software Development for System Integration

Be part of progress

Introduction

Within the Development and Engineering (D&E) organization, the Performance and Integration (P&I) cluster delivers the integrated and qualified package needed to manufacture and service both scanner and source for the perfect node solution on time, within customer specification and with the right cost of ownership. Within the P&I cluster, the System Integration (SI) department is responsible for integrating, verifying and releasing working DUV system configurations. The integration, verification and release is tested on several proto machines. Proto systems are used to verify the design concept at system level, which includes both hardware and software. Multiple proto machines are part of a “Proto Park”. The proto engineering group within the SI department is responsible for keeping the machines in perfect condition as well as execution of test claims and supporting D&E in their testing.

Your assignment

You will be part of a software / BI team who delivers to the D&E System Integration department by delivering intuitive software and insightful dashboards that simplify complexity, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decisions. Contribute to the development of a software tooling platform designed to manage machine time claim requests efficiently. In this context, a claim refers to a request for reserving time on a proto machine for testing or integration activities. The platform supports the entire lifecycle of these claims, including intake, review, planning, and closure, ensuring smooth coordination and improved collaboration across teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in software development within a high-tech environment, contributing to tools that directly impact operational efficiency and process improvement.

Your tasks may include:

  • Working closely with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
  • Design and implement new features, optimize workflows to reduce manual effort
  • Integrate the platform with existing systems and data sources
  • Improve the user experience through responsive and user-friendly interfaces

This is a bachelor or master (thesis or non-thesis) internship for minimum 4 months, minimum 3 days per week (on-site). The start date of this internship is as of January 2026.

Your profile

  • Background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Information Technology or related
  • Programming skills (preferably Python/Django or similar frameworks)
  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Basic knowledge of databases, and experience with software development principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively and have critical thinking skills
  • Great communication skills in English, both written and verbally

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
