Balancing the analytic world of procurement with creativity of marketing has been an incredible learning experience at Heineken. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities for personal growth.

Zofia, former intern of the team

The internship

Marketing procurement is the process of sourcing and managing external marketing services and resources, such as advertising agencies, media buying, and production services, with a focus on optimizing costs, quality, and value. It involves negotiating contracts, ensuring efficient use of the marketing budget, and fostering strategic relationships to maximize ROI. The goal is to align marketing needs with financial and operational efficiency.

As a valued member of the overall Commerce, Professional and Business Services team, you would be working within the Marketing Services team. This will involve:

  • Supporting the Global Category Managers with translating Global strategies into market plans
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders in HGP (Heineken Global Procurement), Commerce Teams (mainly Marketing Teams), and Markets Globally
  • Leading your own projects
  • Supporting the teams in document writing and presentation
  • Developing an understanding of Marketing Services categories like ATL Creative and Production category, Media, Shopper marketing, Events and Sponsorships
  • Possibility of negotiation of some small scopes of work for brands
  • Mapping current processes and designing future processes
  • Benchmarking industry best practices
  • Analysing internal data and providing insights

Your new team and workplace

You will be part of the Procurement department; however, we do not expect procurement background or procurement studies specifically. Our key stakeholders are Marketing teams, Markets and Agencies. Please note there are no Marketing tasks involved such as brand or media planning for example.

Depending on the needs and your capability, you could be working on specific projects across the wider department to maximize your growth and learning experience. Our team is working closely with key stakeholders and suppliers to drive innovation, value and sustainability across each commerce and professional/business service category.

During your internship, you’ll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we’ll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

The unique you!

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who has a willingness to learn and develop their skills and capabilities across communication, commercial, contracts, sustainability, and innovation.

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • Currently in study for Master’s degree
  • Fluent English language required
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Strong skills at using general office tools (Microsoft)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently on tasks and at the same time be a team player
  • Assertive, pragmatic, resilient and a can-do attitude
  • Strong personality with the ability to work and adapt in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical skills

Even if you feel you don’t meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
