Drive Sustainability and Compliance at Epson

Your mission:

Are you passionate about driving sustainability and ensuring compliance with evolving EU regulations?

Focusing on product safety, this pivotal role will cover regulatory compliance across Europe, translating complex legislative requirements into actionable plans. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence policy through industry associations, and ensure our reporting meets the highest standards.

What will you do:

  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance, as well as monitoring and reporting on our compliance activities.
  • Monitor and gather legislative developments by participation in industry associations working groups.
  • Establish and coordinate implementation action plans between Epson Europe and Seiko Epson Corporation’s relevant departments.
  • Develop and implement cross-departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on compliance activities to senior management, including identifying areas of non-compliance and recommending corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments and employees to ensure they understand and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify and address areas of non-compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and industry standards that may impact our organization.
  • Work with external regulatory agencies and auditors to ensure compliance and facilitate inspections and audits.
  • Communicate internally about the Sustainability Department activities.
  • Contribute to the optimisation of processes in the Sustainability Department.
  • Advocate on behalf of Epson to trade associations, intercompany alliances and policy makers.

What we ask for:

  • Academic and practical understanding of the issues affecting electrical and electronic performance, product safety (e.g., EMC, LVD, RED Directives/Regulations).
  • Knowledge of software related legislation, as well as other legislation affecting various matters such as IT, HR, legal, marketing, audit, supply chain, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of EU legislative priorities and all applicable product related legislation in Europe.
  • Excellent theoretical understanding and solid practical experience of the regulatory and legislative processes within Europe is required.
  • Demonstrable experience in regulatory compliance management.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with external regulatory agencies and auditors.
  • Excellent command of English both verbally and written.
