We are the Collection team, and we are responsible for balancing our Social and Financial Responsibilities of effective credit management. With our collection and reminder process, we monitor open invoices and start reminding when the due date has surpassed.

What you do as a Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you will join our product team. We believe in ownership, and you will have the mandate (together with your team) to discover and develop features end-to-end. At bol, we are big on autonomy, and that makes us strong: we expect you to make (technical) choices along the way, but also to take ownership when things do not go as expected. You are a system design nerd; you are eager to learn and don’t hesitate to challenge or improve current design decisions.

You explore it – you build it – you run it – you love it – is our mantra and we live it every day.

We expect you to:

• Develop clean, high-performance code using technologies such as: Java 17/21, Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, Google Cloud, relational databases (PostgreSQL), and messaging systems like Pub/Sub
• Think of ways to make solutions scalable and future proof
• Take full end-to-end ownership over team solutions, being responsible for code reviews, refinement, coding, testing, and deployment
• Have a good understanding and hands-on experience with DevOps practices such as version control (Git), CI/CD, monitoring and observability, using tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos
• It’s nice to have some basic understanding of frontend; experience with React is a plus
• Help your team grow and team up with business stakeholders to ensure that solutions add customer value (#productled)
• Have a passion for continuous learning and don’t hesitate to experiment with cutting-edge technology solutions
• Affinity with Machine Learning is a plus
