Your Opportunity

Team Blue Netherlands is looking for a Business Controller to join its Finance Team partnering a dynamic and fast-growing organization. Working together as part of a Controlling Team of 4, you will take an active role in partnering the Technology and Product Business Units of NL by helping to improve commercial decision making and ultimately steering the business towards our financial goals.

What Your Day Will Look Like

Evaluation of complex issues through your own analysis, story lining the key insights and driving behavioural change of your Stakeholders is an essential part of the role. You will help the wider team with accurate Financial Planning to support Budgeting and Forecasting Cycles, as well as identifying and developing strategies to manage risk including solid Governance. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to drive your own projects to change systems and processes to enhance control, for example Vendor, Product and Partner Profitability Analysis. You will be assisted by our Core Finance Team in Portugal who take responsibility for the Transactional Accounting tasks including General Ledger, P2P and R2R.

What You Will Do

• Effective Business Partnering towards Technology Organization.
• Monthly identification of up and downside risk of spend with clear call to action.
• Adopt Business Case approach to support major commercial decisions in order to maximize value and manage business risk.

Lead the Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting Process for COS, G&A and Capex.

• Drive improvement in tooling to increase the level of automation across the Back Office.
• Accurate submission of quarterly forecasts to include proactive steer the business units towards budget commitments.
• Execute the Monthly Flash Reporting Process to ensure accuracy of close, correct application of GAAP and proactive feedback towards Core Finance Team to drive quality improvement.

Help define & execute allocation approach of COS towards products to enable Gross Margin Reporting.

• Proactive recommendation towards Operational Teams adjust customers prices / renegotiate costs with vendors in order to protect margins.
• Identify and communicate emerging trends to enable the Group Finance Function to make informed long term financial plans.

Owner of the submission of the full package of financial performance for Budgeting & Forecasting plus oversight and explanation for Actuals including:

• P&L to Net Profit
• Balance Sheet / Cashflow

Your Profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience and responsibility within the Finance Function with at least 5 years Business Controlling or Financial Controlling experience.
• Registered Controller (RC), CIMA or other Professional Finance Qualification preferred.
• Self starting with an ability to build relationships across the organization.
• Logical work method with ability to think creatively to bring improvement to systems and processes.
• Prior experience with Netsuite and Power BI welcome.
