Onze meer dan 200 multipurpose vrachtschepen zijn wereldwijd afgeleverd en blijven voortdurend verbeterd worden om brandstofefficiëntie, laadcapaciteit en functionaliteit te maximaliseren. Door de groeiende vraag van onze schepen is Cargo Vessels aan het uitbreiden. De functie is uitvoerbaar op onze locatie Drachten en Gorinchem.

At Damen Cargo Vessels, we design, build, and sell modern cargo ships. Our more than 200 multipurpose cargo vessels have been delivered worldwide and continue to be constantly improved to maximize fuel efficiency, cargo capacity, and functionality. Due to the growing demand for our ships, Cargo Vessels is expanding. The position is executable at the Gorinchem location as well as at our Drachten location.

De rol / The role:

Als Project Manager Engineering / As a Project Manager Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately 10 engineers with various disciplines responsible for basic and detailed engineering. Daarnaast coördineer je ook het basic en detail engineering werk dat we uitbesteden aan engineering bureau's. Additionally, you also coordinate the basic and detailed engineering work that we outsource to engineering firms.

De Project Manager Engineering is verantwoordelijk voor het beheren van scheepsbouwprojecten van concept tot levering. The Project Manager Engineering is responsible for managing shipbuilding projects from concept to delivery. Verantwoordelijkheden omvatten het coördineren met verschillende teams om ervoor te zorgen dat projectmijlpalen worden gehaald, effectief beheer van budgetten en middelen, en naleving van alle branchevoorschriften en normen. Responsibilities include coordinating with various teams to ensure project milestones are met, effectively managing budgets and resources, and ensuring compliance with all industry regulations and standards.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden / Main responsibilities

• Neem je verantwoordelijkheid voor het toegewezen project om gerichte resultaten te behalen op het gebied van planning, kwaliteit en kosten / Take responsibility for the assigned project to achieve targeted results in terms of planning, quality, and costs;
• Beheer je alle projectelementen / Manage all project elements. Dit omvat onder andere / This includes, among other things:
  • Het bepalen van grenzen, planning, monitoring en rapportage over voortgang, (technische) projectbeslissingen, begeleiding van ingenieurs en/of leveranciers in het projectteam / Defining boundaries, planning, monitoring, and reporting on progress, (technical) project decisions, guiding engineers and/or suppliers in the project team;
  • Coördineer je de informatiestroom van verschillende belanghebbenden binnen het project, over de verschillende afdelingen/locaties heen / Coordinating the flow of information from various stakeholders within the project, across the different departments/locations;
  • Adviseer en stem je af met de Project Manager over alle gerelateerde technische vraagstukken / Advising and aligning with the Project Manager on all related technical issues;
  • Zorg je ervoor dat alle kwesties worden afgehandeld en dat de projectdeadlines worden gehaald / Ensuring that all issues are addressed and that project deadlines are met;
  • Zorg je voor naleving van toepasselijke regels en fysieke/data-interfaces met leveranciers / Ensuring compliance with applicable rules and physical/data interfaces with suppliers;
  • Organiseer en/of neem je deel aan projectintegratiereviews / Organizing and/or participating in project integration reviews;
  • Coördineer je reviews van documenten, zoals planning (updates), voortgangsrapporten, productierapporten, enz. / Coordinating reviews of documents, such as planning (updates), progress reports, production reports, etc.;
  • Neem je deel aan tests en proeven, zoals HIL-testen, HAT en SAT / Participating in tests and trials, such as HIL tests, HAT, and SAT.

Vaardigheden en ervaring / Skills and experience

Je technische vaardigheden zijn verankerd in een scherp gevoel voor kwaliteitsbewustzijn en een praktische aanpak. Je bent proactief en creatief, met een toewijding aan precisie in je werk. Daarnaast beschik je over de volgende eigenschappen / Your technical skills are rooted in a keen sense of quality awareness and a practical approach. You are proactive and creative, with a commitment to precision in your work. Additionally, you possess the following attributes:

• Een bachelordiploma in Maritieme Techniek/scheepsbouwkunde, Werktuigbouwkunde of een andere relevante technische studie / A bachelor's degree in Maritime Engineering/naval architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant technical study;
• Meer dan 10 jaar ervaring in het ontwerp en de engineering van (complexe) scheepsbouw- of offshoreprojecten / More than 10 years of experience in the design and engineering of (complex) shipbuilding or offshore projects;
• Sterke leiderschapsvaardigheden, oog voor detail en het vermogen om onder druk problemen op te lossen / Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems under pressure;
• Uitstekende communicatievaardigheden in het Nederlands en Engels / Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English;
• Bereidheid om te reizen / Willingness to travel.
