ASML’s Customer Support Supply Chain department ensures that service levels are met while keeping costs under control. This includes managing timely delivery of products to customers and monitoring cost drivers such as freight, duties, and tooling investments. Service tooling plays a critical role in this process, supporting the global service network throughout its lifecycle; from design and introduction to usage and phase-out. Early decisions in this lifecycle can significantly impact cost, efficiency, and sustainability. This internship offers a unique opportunity to analyze and improve the lifecycle of service tools, focusing on cost optimization and circularity.

Your assignment

As an intern, you will investigate and optimize the lifecycle of service tools used in ASML’s service network. Key deliverables include:

  • Mapping the end-to-end lifecycle of service tools, identifying stakeholders and decision points
  • Investigating tooling demand forecasting and usage data to optimize planning
  • Analyzing cost drivers and proposing improvements to reduce total cost of ownership
  • Exploring circularity practices such as reuse, refurbishment, and recycling
  • Recommending strategies to embed sustainability earlier in the lifecycle
  • Delivering a comprehensive report and presenting findings to stakeholders

Your profile

To be a perfect match you:

  • Are a Master student in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Have a strong interest in lifecycle management, cost analysis, and sustainability
  • Possess strong analytical and communication skills
  • Are proactive, curious, and eager to learn
  • Preferably have experience with process mapping

This is a (thesis) internship for a minimum duration of 5–6 months, full-time (40 hours per week), with a minimum of 3 days on-site in Veldhoven. The internship is set to start in February 2026.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include the willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
