Are you the Guest Relations Intern who has a passion for people, an immaculate eye for detail, and who enjoys the vibrant atmospheres of nhow Amsterdam RAI, 'the cultures hub'?

social hub. design hotel. the place to be.

nhow Amsterdam RAI is a social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The iconic building, facing the various wind directions, symbolizes the melting pot the city of Amsterdam has always been and continues to be. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarters and home base.

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for an energetic, structured, and creative personality, who is ready to take part in a dynamic design hotel. You will be the memory-maker by creating an elevated stay for our guests.

What's in it for you (spoiler: a lot!)

  • Compensation of €750 gross per month for all your hard work, based on full-time hours
  • Free online & offline training organized by our own University
  • Refer-a-friend bonus (500 EUR)
  • Employee rates starting from 36 euros in all our hotels worldwide, 30% discount in the F&B outlets, and Friends & Family discount up to 25%
  • Various discounts in (web)shops
  • Welcome @ Work; dine, spend the night, and have breakfast in your own hotel for 2
  • Team building events, trips and holiday parties
  • The opportunity to grow within our company worldwide

What part will you play in creating the unforgettable?

The Guest Relations department is a part of Reception. The difference is that you will be taking extra care of the guests. Several examples are that you will be placing in-room amenities, meeting and talking to our VIPs, setting up surprises for guests in the rooms, keeping an eye on guest reviews and overall quality scores, and keeping your hotel colleagues up to date with what's going on. You will also be involved in handling guests' complaints. The team is bubbly, creative, and international. Good to keep in mind that the shifts start either at 8, 10, or 13 and you will sometimes work on weekends.

A day in the life of a Guest Relations rock star

  • 08:00 You arrive, in uniform, with a cup of coffee in the back office. You check the VIPs arriving that day, read the reports from yesterday, and plan the day
  • 09:00 Prepare VIP amenities, cards, balloons, cakes, etc.
  • 10:00 Catch up with the emails and guests' requests and get back to those
  • 12:00 Enjoy your lunch with colleagues from other departments.
  • 13:00 You support your reception colleagues at the reception and in the lobby by connecting with guests, helping with luggage, or check in/out
  • 14:00 Help guests with recommendations for what to do and where to go in Amsterdam
  • 14:45 Prepare the VIP cards for the following day, check the planning for the following day and handover to your colleague
  • 16:00 Time to go home!

What makes you the perfect fit for this bold journey?

  • You are currently enrolled at the bachelor's education in a topic close to hospitality (travel & tourism, hotel management, etc.) – this point is a must-have
  • You naturally want to connect with people, get to know our guests, and adapt the service to them
  • You have experience working with guests from different cultures, preferably in travel & tourism
  • You are organized, spontaneous, and have an eye for detail
  • You have ideas and you are not afraid of turning them into reality
  • You need to be able to speak and write well in English; we are excited if you bring another language along
