At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects. Each week we offer over 75,000 unique items in auction, carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 20 million unique objects to date, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by our core values:

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us on this exciting journey!

As a Senior Key Business Developer for the Watches category, you will play a key role in accelerating our growth strategy across Europe. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on business development, identifying, onboarding, and nurturing top-tier sellers and strategic partners to strengthen our marketplace position.

You’ll leverage data, market intelligence, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to define and execute a clear seller acquisition strategy, driving both short-term results and long-term category growth.

We’re looking for a candidate based in Europe, fluent in English (Italian is a plus), with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of scaling supply in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Generation & Business Development: Identify, approach, and convert high-potential sellers through cold outreach, market research, fairs, and referrals. Build a strong pipeline of prospects focused on Watches.

  • Sales Conversion & Onboarding: Own the full sales cycle - from prospecting to closing – and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for newly signed sellers, helping them meet Catawiki’s quality standards from day one.

  • Market Intelligence, Strategy & Analytics: Stay ahead of industry trends in the Watch market, understanding supply chains, competitive dynamics, and sourcing opportunities. Analyze category performance metrics, market share, and seller activity to identify growth levers. Translate insights into actionable strategies for improving seller conversion, activation, and retention.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with category experts and the commercial team to define ideal seller profiles, align on pricing strategies, and share insights that contribute to category growth. Share learnings and best practices to influence the wider Commercial and BD community at Catawiki.

What You’ll Bring

  • Sales Drive & Hunting Mindset: Proven track record in outbound sales or business development, ideally in a fast-paced or entrepreneurial environment. You’re motivated by targets and proactive in pursuing leads.

  • Analytical Skill: Strong analytical mindset — comfortable using data to inform strategy and decision-making.

  • Language & Location: Professional proficiency in English (Italian preferred). You are based in Europe with a working from home arrangement and are comfortable with occasional travel to meet sellers or attend trade events.

  • Tools & Skills: Comfortable using CRM systems like HubSpot, as well as Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, etc.). Organized, self-sufficient, and data-driven in your approach.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Sales, Marketing, etc.) is preferred.

  • Relevant Industry Background (Preferred): Experience in the Watches industry is a strong asset, as it can provide a relevant network and a deeper understanding of industry-specific topics, which can support more effective seller acquisition and onboarding.

Where you'll Be:

This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Europe, with a preference for candidates located in Italy. You’ll join our Luxury Department and collaborate closely with the team, coming into the office on a quarterly basis for meetings and team gatherings.

Why You'll Love Working with Us

  • Create a Visible Impact: Work at scale in a global organisation that serves millions of customers across 80+ categories. In our flat structure, every role has a broad scope that directly impacts both our customers and the business.

  • Learn and Grow with Us: Benefit from our Learning & Development initiatives, which include clear development plans and mentorship programmes designed to support your career progression.

We foster an inclusive and queer-friendly work environment, committed to making every Catawikian feel welcomed and empowered. Whatever your story, we encourage you to bring your unique perspective to our team.

  • Celebrate Life’s Moments: When you join us, you’ll receive a €100 Catavoucher, and on each birthday, you'll get a €50 Catavoucher to celebrate. Enjoy an extra day off each year to "Pursue Your Passion". We also recognise significant work anniversaries (3, 5, 8, 10 years) with additional time off, plus extra leave for life’s big moments like marriage, engagements, or moving house.

Please note that benefits can vary by location. For specific information regarding what’s available in your country, please consult your recruiter.
